Does Therapy? want no new fans?

#

Because since SP-YF there was just one video (Little Tongues First) and not to many TV aperances. The songs werent played on the radio, the ticket prices are to high for people who just want to see them live without knowing them and so on.
I mean I love them for every album sounding different, non comercial and out of trends since SP-YF and I think they really please most of the old fans, but this just ain’t the way to get new fans.

The question you probably should ask is ‘Does Ark21 not want new customers?’ The record label is responsible for coughing up the dough for promotional things like videos etc…

I recall when T? moved to Ark21, they were quite happy about it, because they believed the label would support them more than A&M did. As you’ll recall, A&M paid for a ton of videos, single etc… Ark is even ignoring the FREE methods of promotion like the Internet! There’s a mediocre website (yes, I’m fully aware that mine is mediocre as well) and they’re not exactly jumping through hoops to put T?’s name out. When SPYF and SMFTYP came out, Ark21 sent me press releases and asked that I mention it on my website. Net cost to them? However much a stamp costs. Failing that, they could have emailed the press release for free! Why would a record label not even take the time to ask the various T? webmasters to say something? How lazy is that?

And even more strange, is the OLI records sent me press releases, singles and a preview album when Andy did the vocals on that Manchild track. Here we have an album with ONE track that ONE member of T? does guest vocals on, and their record label goes out of their way to ask that I help promote it. Even the label behind the new Turbonegro tribute disc that T? did ‘Denim Demon’ for took the time to send a press release, some posters, album info, and a sample CD to me. It’s actually pretty sad that other labels are doing more work to promote Therapy? than their own record label is.

Sorry to rant & rave.

Therapy? tickets are ALWAYS!!!! under the ticketprices other bands ask… And why are almost all the shows sold out??? Because the tickets are TOO expensive or because people want to see Therapy? including new fans… and the last tour you could really see a difference in old and new fans…
So they are there for sure!!!

Write to ARK21 or visit them in London (Water Lane 1, Camden Town) and they’ll give you promo-stuff. I was given some very nice things…

Thanks to Mira again!

I think it’d be cheaper for me to just buy the album. I don’t even have a passport!

And by the way, donVutz, I heard somewhere that you’re gay??

I just asked them. Why should I tell them I write for a fanzine? I didn’t even tell them that I’m participating here in the WOM. The people there are very nice and even arranged a meeting with Mira who gave me the stuff. She also told me that the band might contact me when they come to Germany…

Yeah, I noticed that. Just thought I’d bust your balls about it. Some people have a lot of free time on their hands.
