I see what ya mean. The little riff is identical but I’m positive it’s just a coincidence. One of the Offsprings new chunes sounds like screamager. It’s live on a b-side off ‘a million miles away’.

That’s the ticket! very similar sound but ‘self esteem’ by Offspring sounds even more similar to the classic ‘smells like teen spirit.’

I’ve heard it too. It makes it worth listening to the song. And I’ve been listening to pleasure death again since I ‘ve heard the song. I mean caucasion psychosis (is my spelling correct?). Actually, it’s a really good cd!

I’ve posted it a while ago, but In The Sand by Anouk still reminds me of Jude The Obscene. Another resemblance is on the same album, some parts of The Dark resemble Skunk Anansie’s Weak very much.
By the way, the Dutch folks on this board must know The Road Ahead by City to City (I think…), which must be the biggest rip-off ever. I still think it’s Everybody Hurts by REM whenever I hear it on the radio. Same goes for the intro on a Madonna song, I think it’s Don’t Tell Me. I always think it’s Good Riddance by Greenday, I’m talking about the guitar intro.

Sorry boys&girls!!!

The name of the song by The Offspring is ‘Why Don’t You Get A Job?’ and by The Beatles was ‘Life Goes On’…

I sometimes make mistakes when I’m drunk!!!

Compare ‘I won’t hold you back’ by Toto to ‘Another Chance’ by Roger Sanchez. Very good.

the intro in garbage’s stupid girl is identical to the the one in the clash’s train in vain.

parts of manic street preachers’ from despair to where sounds very similar to the clash’s lover’s rock.

beats international’s (fatboy slim) dub be good to me sounds like the clash’s the guns of brixton..

And Beats International sampled ‘The Guns Of Brixton’…(it doesn’t sound like). They had to pay a lot of money for it afterwards for not asking permission. Oh yeah, and the Beatles song obviously was called Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da (that tv-series was called Life Goes On) and ‘Why Don’t You Get A Job’ sounds more similar to Cecilia by Simon & Garfunkel. Could be Paul Simon alone also, dunno…

Actually, I think Blof is a pretty good band. Not the most original band, but pretty decent, and great lyrics. Beats Therapy? lyrics anyway, I’m afraid.

And the Lostprophets song is called shinobivsdragonninja, IIRC. I don’t have it here, so I can’t compare, but I will as soon as I can find the song again.
