Graham has left therapy?!!!!!!!

#

Started by zero nero

I was at a gig on the 23rd of december, was talking to Graham and he
informed us that he had left Therapy?.

Reasons,…well many it seems.
First of all its not personality clashes…
No they still get on really well and like he says they’re best mates.

Graham says that he wants to do his own music and has some projects
lined up. Actually he was playing guitar with a band called ‘Turn’(http://www.turn.ie) Turn, i think would love to have him in the band but he says he’s got lots of things he wants to try.

He is also a tad depressed, a friend of his died recently, (the singer from the mary janes). So thats that. The band took it well by all accounts, all though they were dissapointed they realise that
this was what graham wanted to do.
Still all best friends which is good.

Now the question i asked him…
What will t? do now?
He’s says nothing is decided. But this might be the end of the road for t?.
He said they might not want to go thru the whole auditioning for someone new again…so who knows???
(Bring back Fyfe i say!!)

Anyhow if i hear more i will let the message board know.
Therapy? are a 3 piece again.

totally serious.

I couldnt believe it myself. I was like, hang on a second, why are you leaving? dont do that!! But he is a bit sick and tired of it all.
He said that he didnt want to play ‘heavy music’ anymore, or for now anyhow. He described playing live with therapy every night as like getting the shit kicked out of you - basically it was so energetic. and like i said earlier he wants a break from that to do his own thing.
He left after the last dublin gig in the ambassador.

and why did he tell it you, and not their record company, or one or another press-release then? bit strange, not? And why did you wait so long to put it online? and at what gig did you see them?

my god, hope you’re just joking

dont believe me if you like.

Like i said, i was a turn gig, and he played nearly the whole
set with them (guitar and not drums).
Its christmas so people are in good spirits and get talking.
My girlfriend knows graham for quite a while now and he told us.

I dont thinks its any big secret, its just that over christmas nothing
happens like press releases etc..

Anyhow, its the 27th today…i saw him only 4 days ago, for me
thats not a delay in doing something, normally it would take me a month or so…lol.

if it’s true, it doesn’t surprize me… when i saw them in May on the US tour Graham seemed detached from the rest of the band… it was only 1 show so i tried to brush it off, but i said to my girlfriend as we left that night that something was up…

if therapy? really love rock and roll like they have been claiming the past little while, it would be a shock to see them break up… let’s see if they stick true to their words… better yet, let’s hope…

Come on, let’s just wait for some official info on this. For all we know, it might be some joker saying this. Till I hear it from official sources, I don’t believe it.

I’m on the same bus with satanslittlehelper an Michael, don’t believe it until something official info… But if it’s true it surprises me more than when Fyfe left, because it was so obvious that Fyfe didn’t want anymore be a part of the band and Graham has always acted the other way. Is Spinal Tap with the drummer ‘problems’ familiar to anyone..? ;o)

yeah! haha ‘it was more of a stain than a globule’ _ _ but seriously, last time i saw them, graham looked like he was loving it. you could see a great chemistry with him and micheal. it didnt seem like there was anything wrong, so unless he’s had a really shitty month, i dont see him going being very likely. (i hope!)

Ok: Graham leaving Therapy? would surprise me a lot, because the 7 times I’ve seen T? this year he sure seemed to enjoy himself a lot,he told me he had some sideprojects going on, but he also told me that he was having the time of his life!

And for therapy? splitting up: If that’s true then they have been ‘acting’very well on stage this tour! I just don’t buy it!

Hey, you must be kiddin’!

Talkin’ ‘bout the three gigs I went to see on the recent tour, I have to say that Martin and Graham were the ones that seemed to enjoy it more than the life-time members Andy and Michael. Graham leaving the band? No way! Please tell us you only wanted to shock us…

Well, if it is really true: Who could replace him? I really do not want any other drummer than Graham (except Fyfe, of course)!

Really waiting for some more news…

There is one very personal detail that zero nero is telling about, and that’s is that Graham lost a good friend of him very recent, so I think if you tell things like that to somebody you would not joke about leaving Therapy?.
But as Mareike said, we all got a card from Therapy? with all the names included and not only one name. That was send on the 24th.
I hope what you are saying is not true and I will wait to believe it till it’s official… I liked Graham a lot!!!

listen, i’d be the same as you all and be very sceptical
about all this if i hadn’t actually heard Graham say it himself.

I’m not joking here, what i’m telling you is what he told me.
Unless he is starting some elaborate hoax, but why?
He told more people than me. He was talking to 4 or 5 people that
night and hopefully someone of them will come on this site and confirm what he said.

I probably should not have said anything about this considering the
reaction it has caused. But he didnt ask for this to be kept secret…
after all he did tell a few people this.

I am as surprised and shocked as any of you,
But ok, lets wait and see…
i probably wont publicly comment any further on this but if
anyone wants me to clarify anything i said earlier-

Might it not be a primary reaction of Graham, because when I lost my father years ago I wanted to quit school and stopped doing sports, felt depressed and all the stuff, but I managed to get through and so will Graham, and I hope him telling he’s leaving Therapy? is just like that…

On the afternoon that Graham’s best friend died, they cancelled the sound check prior to their London Ocean gig. Fortunately for us, the audience, the gig went ahead, and Graham was very much into it (I believe it was said that Graham was told (or even suggested himself) that the best way to mourn this friend, or to keep the ball above water, was to go out and thrash the drum kit something chronic — which he did). But that was the immediate reaction, and there is no reason to doubt him if he has said that he is going to leave.

The only odd thing I thought was that he allegedly said that the rest of T? did not want to go through the audition process again, and therefore would split up… that doesn’t ring true, especially if they are all so up for playing the music at the moment. And let’s face it, how many drummer-departures have caused the end of a band? (No disrepect to drummers, of course).

I have had a reply from Andy… it’s correct. Graham has left.

Andy also goes on to answer the question about the band splitting…this is NOT TRUE!

his last words of the email were
‘our next phase is going to be the best ever.
only us and the fans matter.
this is going to get more punk rock/metal/rock ‘n’ roll than ever.’

anybody says.
the next tour/album we do will be our best ever.
