P.O.D. - Youth of the nation

#

Started by say10

That song reminds me of Pink Floyd’s “Another brick in the wall” and Silverchair’s “Anthem for the year 2000”. But I like it. Who else likes P.O.D? Ever seen ‘em live?

Sorry but I must disagree with you both!
I really do not like the song and when they have this complete choir singing at the end I almost throw up!
But I like Silverchair

Okay…
but what ‘bout POD, they are so ‘in to God’ and the way you hear this in this song ‘Youth of the Nation’… it makes me sick
And then this videoclip…it’s like Michael Jacksons ‘Black and White’

I rarely translate the lyrics of songs that I listen to, I lust like P.O.D.’s sound and they rock as a live band. If you dislike theyr attitude about god you should listen to Xavier Naidoo…he REALLY sucks!

The song is okay, but still - don`t know how to say this in English “anbiedernd”, kitschig. But not as bad, as, let`s say Limp Bizkit or so. Imho of course.

well, i thought “alive” wasn’t that bad (also it felt like there’ve been thousand of songs just like that before) but when i got to listen to the album at a friends house i was more than bored, and especialy “y.o.t.n.” was is a million other songs in my opinion.
oh yeah, and silverchair really do suck big time, but the worst thing is that i probably have to see them live at bizarre, because my girlfriend had to got to a few t? gigs with me and so i promised her see silverchair together (i don’t know if that was worth it). let’s hope i’ll have to work that day.

Why do you dislike Silverchair so much?
I must say, I like their ‘dark’ & ‘negative’ sound. Sounds like the leadsinger will commit suicide within the next two years. Okay sure it sounds like Kurt now and then, but which post-Nirvana band doesn’t?
I’ve never seen them on stage though…but I sure like the CD’s.

POD are not ‘in to god’. They just write about spiritual topics. I don’t like them either, but Silverchair ain’t good either. (Hello Nirvana?).

Title: what I dislike about Silverchair

(and Korn)
They are singing about boring stuff like
-bad childhood (daddy daddy, my hamster disappeared!)
-sexual abuse
-anorexia
-running out of toilet paper…

Who cares???? Who is interested in ugly guys singing about their private issues?? I like straight forward rock and I hate people complaining about how bad life is treating them! Come on, we’ve all had a bad childhood, hadn’t we?

I guess Troublegum is not really one of your favourite albums then.

No idea. After all I`m not into guys, and when listening to music, I usually don`t care about the looks of the singer..I don`t go to my CD shop and shout something like “Hey, do you have some records of good-looking girls?”

But Korn come off a bit whiney (spelling?) sometimes. That “Daddy” Song on their debut is a bit stupid, imho. And I think they`ll never make a record without having the word “pain” a few times in their songs.

Title: verbal ingredients for a KORN song

-dad/daddy
-why?
-prozac
-pain
-bitch(biatch!)
-motherfucker

for a Silverchair song:
-any stupid and boring phrase and lots of strings, violins and hairspray

I saw them live when they were on tour with Die Ärzte last year. Unfortunately I was just waiting in line to get some french fries when they played, so I couldn`t see them. But at least I could hear them.
