Bospop & Marktrock

#

Started by Michael

yes people, I’m about to join you guys again, as I will return from my Oz adventure next week (Friday July 5). My question is: who else is going to Bospop and Marktrock in Leuven? I already have a ticket for Bospop, and marktrock is free, right?
I’m looking forward to see Therapy? again, and the fans too of course! Cheers!

as far as i know you have to pay for the ” good bands ” at a certain stage at the ” marktrock “, but i guess it was not that expensive.

Marktrock Leuven has different stages, spread all over the city of Leuven (don’t worry, everything is clearly indicated). The best bands (Counting Crows, Natalie Imbruglia (huh), Therapy?, Starflam and Elvis Costello) perform on the “Oude Markt”, the old Market Square, and only there (on the Oude Markt) you have to pay to enter.. Price: €15.00 EVERY TIME YOU ENTER THE OUDE MARKET (so, if you enter you pay, and if you leave and enter again after that, you have to pay once again).. Hope that’s clear.

I haven’t been to Marktrock the last couple of years, but the last times I went the “Oude Markt” was always already full during the afternoon so you weren’t allowed to enter anymore.

So my advice (which I will take myself) is to be there early and stay on the “Oude Markt”.

I’ll be at Bospop too, of course.

Hello,

Just do say that Marktrock Leuven isn’t free but a ticket is very cheap I think less then 10€. Therapy? also plays at Lokerse feesten, a ticket there costs 5€.

Title: tomorrow

Hi there,

I will be at bospop as well. I’ll say hi and so..haha.

And of course also in Lokeren and Leuven.
It’s indeed ?15.00 for entering (?10.00 is only on wednesday).
But the best advice is be on time, ‘cause this high prices makes that people stay on the market and never leave again. It used to be ?5.00 and less peoples went in and out all the time.

Cya there and have some fun.

Oh, you guys missed something alright! It was a superb gig, they played Trigger Inside since I don’t know how long, the new song (If It Kills), which is extremely good btw, Evil Elvis, the Master Of Puppets part, etc. Robby has the playlist (why am I not surprised?), so he knows the complete setlist.
Bush was brilliant too by the way, they played the perfect setlist with Everything Zen, Machinehead, Swallowed, Little Things, Come Down, etc., nothing wrong with that. Yes Roxana, you missed quite a gig ;-)
In Extremo was nice too. Pretty funny was that the singer screamed ‘hallo Eindhoven!’, whereas Bospop was in Weert… Too bad they didn’t play Werd Ich Am Galgen Hochgezogen though.
All in all, I had a great day! Hope to see you guys in Belgium!

yeah, it was a great gig in my opinion too!
though andy was feeling a bit sick yesterday they played a great set, even better then in switzerland where they played a shorter set.
good to hear that i’m not the only one to like the new song, that would be a perfect first single from the new album, wouldn’t it?

Hey Michael,

It was cool seeing you again too! Unfortunately I missed Bush too, but I already saw them at the Werchter festival a few weeks ago and I guess they played more or less the same setlist. Did they also do the REM cover (The One I Love)?

But I also think that T? played really good and the new track is definately brilliant (you see Rotten: sometimes we do have the same opinion, who would have thought that???? Miracles do happen hihi…)

And a big cheers to all the other nutty T? friends I saw again, hope to see you all for a “double-date” in Belgium in August…

One other thing I forgot: what kind of T-shirts is Mr McKeegan wearing the last few gigs? First the Guns ´N´Roses one, then it was Van Halen and at Bospop Kiss?? I guess we can expect Bon Jovi and Europe in the coming weeks??

yoik, i agree…bospop was fucking great!!!!

well, i wished In Extremo would have played a bit more faster…but they were good!

i’d also liked to see propain, especially their bassist was funny!
well, but i’m sorry to say: Suicidal Tendencies sucked big time!!!! especially when that singer started acting stupid( lolololololololololololovely…!)

but therapy? were great!!!!
i’m glad that they changed the setlist and of course i like the new song to already…

and michael, i’m sorry that i missed bush…really, i know they are great :-), but unfortunately i had better things to do, when they were playing…i hope you can forgive me :D

and it was really great to see so many people from the WOM again…and it was hopefully not the last time.

Yesssssss…it was great again, Trigger inside..yeeeeeehaaaaaa, finishing off with Evil Elvis, potato junkie, we were spoiled yesterday! Nice talking to you people again, and Rene, congratulations with your driverslicense, one tip: Don’t put on accelerator, this song makes you overspeed far too much, your right foot gets very heavy, believe me I know;-)

I was a bit dissapointed with In Extremo, not with their music, but I thought they were going to hang the singer of Kane, since they had a gallow on stage, why let an opportunity like that go?All the ingredients were there:Us Therapy? fans, nice weather, cheap beer, the gallow…;-)

Is anyone out there planning camping near Markrock?

Maybe we can cluster together just like Zottegem?

Title: NO Camping

Marktrock is not a festival as others. It’s a city filled with stages and music. There is no campingground nearby I think. The same is for Lokeren, I think. Correct me if I am wrong.

I’ll be around 14 hours at the old market on thursday. As T? wil start at 18.45, I want to see Starflam (great frenchspoken rap from Belgians) and Zornik (great gig from Belgians who live close to my home).

I loved their gig at Bospop. They played great, little much on routine basis but hey, great. The drummer did a good job too!

Any pictures yet?

a couple of years ago (Marktrock 1999), we spent 2 days on a camping in Oud-Heverlee, which is super-close to Leuven (and busses drive constantly between the 2 towns); i think that might be a solution for the ones who want to stay overnight. In Lokeren there is definitely no camping (hey i was born there!)

Title: Heverlee Camping

Hi Sister thanks for the suggestion but…

Last year i was also at Markrock staying on camping Heverlee.
(I eventually met Micheal from T? who was also watching marktrock)

They said that the camping had to close because of expansion of the Leuven University.

So sadly this year there is no camping Heverlee thanks to the Leuven University.

Does anyone have other suggestion for a campingsite (otherwise will have to seize some university grounds…)

Hi Jaymz,

Don’t get me wrong here: they did not play the entire version of Master Of Puppets, in fact only 30 seconds of it I think… but it was just very funny they put this on the setlist…

At the Graspop festival about 2 weeks ago Dream Theater played a longer part of Master that was really cool… I normally don’t like them that much because their songs of 10 minutes or more are pretty boring, but the Master cover kicked ass! But the best thing that evening was Machine Head playing the full version of Creeping Death! And it sounded damn’ good too in my opinion.

Damn, I would like them to bring the whole version of the song, in Therapy? style of course. Like they did with Breaking the law. Anyway, even if they only 30 sec of the song, it still would be cool to hear that and I would totally freak out. Metallica and Therapy? are my two alltime favorite bands. One of them doing a song from the other one would be extremely cool.

Hey Robby, I was at Graspop Metal Meeting too. It was pretty wicked when Machine Head and Dream theater played those Metallica songs!! I totally went nuts at that moment. Did you know that Dream Theater has covered the whole Master of puppets cd a while ago? (including orion!!)
