Hi Jaymz,

Yeah, I really love Metallica too… cool that you also went at the Graspop festival!

About Dream Theater covering Master Of Puppets: is this an official recording?? Love to have that one actually…
And Creeping Death was indeed really cool: especially the “Die” part in it!!

I just hope that I will see Metallica live again one day, I saw them a couple of times and it was absolutely brilliant! Last time was already back in 1999 in Werchter where I almost got crushed in the first rows: that was fun!!

I got an mp3 show of Dream Theater covering Master of puppets. It’s not a soundboard recording, but the sound quality is ok. I want to send it to you, but I have no idea how to do that. I guess the file would be to be too big for mailing it to you. Maybe through icq or msn? Let me know if you want it.

I’m really waiting for the next Metallica tour too. My buddy and me are going to do Belgium and all its neighbor countries (mayby more). I was at Werchter ‘99 too. Their show was really amazing!! It was the best show of the three times I have seen them. That same year I also went to one of the symphony shows. That was quite amazing and special, but not as good as Werchter.

Hi Jaymz,

Yeah, of course I want it… sounds cool, but actually I don’t have an idea how you should get it to me… don’t really know how we arrange that…

I just hope that Metallica will do another tour, because their previous shows kicked ass. I saw them 4 times:

Werchter 93
Flanders Expo, Gent 96
Pukkelpop, Hasselt 97
Werchter 99

The gig in 93 is definately one I will never forget: it was the last show of the Nowhere Else To Roam tour (which took 3 years) and they played for 3 hours and a half that day…

Btw: if you would be interested: I have the entire show from Werchter 99 on video and pretty good quality too…

I’m still waiting for the DT Master of Puppets to arive. Its a recording from Barcelona Feb 19th 2002. Amazing how they do an ‘encore’ of a total album, and even play it better :D

I kinda lost interest in Metallica after “the Black Album”. In the nineties they’ve become a bunch of assholes. (except for Jason).
And their latest albums suck goat ass.

I wish I had seen a show of the Nowhere Else To Roam Tour. Especially the one from Werchter in ‘93 because I only live 10 minutes away from Werchter, but I missed it altough I already was into Metallica back then :(

I also have a bootleg cd and a video from Werchter ‘99, but the sound qualtity isn’t that good. Besides that the camera swings around all the time as it is an audience recording. Is your version a soundboard recording? If so I really would like to have a copy of that one!

I can send the Dream Theater show (the one from Barcelona Opalmantra talked about) to you via msn or icq. If you do not have an account, you can easily install one of these programs. If you do not wish to do that I also can burn the show to a cd and bring it along to one of the Therapy? shows I’m going to.

@ Jaymz: my video from Werchter is also an audience recording, but the quality is actually pretty good. I can copy it for you if you want to. About that Dream Theater cover: it would be nice if you would be able to burn it onto a CD, do you have some other stuff to put on there (burning 1 song on an empty CD-R is a bit stupid don’t you think?)

@ Opal Mantra: I don’t really care if they turned into a bunch of assholes as long as they keep making good records. Although I have to agree with you that after cutting their hair in 1995 they also cut something else I’m afraid… But hell, live they still kick ass!
And I know other bands in which some band members are big assholes, nevertheless I still like them for their music… I guess some people on this board know about who I’m talking right now…

Hey Robby, that Dream Theater thing I’m talking about is the whole fuckin’ thing (sorry for the language!). Dream Theater has covered whole the Master of Puppets album!! So it’s not just one song. Anyway, I will put songs on the cd ‘till it’s full. I have a loads of Metallica shows (soundboards and aucience recordings) I have bootlegs from all the shows you have been to, except for the Werchter ‘93 show. I’m getting that one very soon. I also have some T? bootlegs, but I guess you already have them.

“And their latest albums suck goat ass.” —-> Opinions differ! I also prefer the old stuff, but I really like the new cd’s too! By the way I’m now listening to a 30 ssecond soundclip of a NEW SONG!! And I can assure you that it ain’t like the loads. It’s some mean and badass music. James is angry again! And as Robby said, Metallica still kicks ass live. In my opinion they are the best live band on earth.

Here’s a piece of footage from Marktrock I’ve recently dug up.

It’s quite funny to see how Andy thinks the questions are a bit trivial but he stays friendly.
