Title: B-Sides

I’m currently in the middle of making my cd’s (I’m on disk 4 now). I think I have something like 117 tracks. All are official releases (including the demos), except for about 6/7 tracks which are on bootlegs … ‘Again & Again’, ‘Alternative Ulster’, ‘Next to You’, ‘Reality’, ‘Bad Reputation’, ‘Close My Eyes’, ‘Sick of You’ … I think that’s it. Anyone got any rare bootleg tracks I don’t?

… I should mention also that I included the 8 origianl demos, Live in Japan Fan Club cassette, Live in Holland Fan Club CD, plus live tracks from compilation/magazine cd’s, and Andy’s guest appearances. I think it’ll take 6 x 80 minute CD’s.

Hmm. Yes. I thought about that.
But these are quite widely available.
I also feel like adding “Fat Camp” & “Bad Karma…”.
Alan what tracks do you have?

I didn’t include any live tracks. I think of putting them on a seperate disc. ;-) As Opal Mantra was released live as a single also, not? With some extra rare bootleg tracks.

Plus I’ve added the Therapy? remixes of “Diable” and “Jonestown Mind”, and Andys guest appearances with Manchild (“Rehab”) and Throat (“Gleason”)

Bootlegs: Next to You, Again and Again, Alternative Ulster, Bad Reputation, Close My Eyes, Sick Of You.

Anything I’m forgetting?

ok. here you go.

From this 7” on green vinyl only 400 copies have been spread. It was released back in 1996 on Try To Understand - records (cat number TRY002). The two songs (a cover of The Police’s Next To You with Sting on vocals - live and Invisible Sun - the version available as well on the Peace Together album) were recorded for a french tv-show, called Taratata, broadcasted on french television on October 28th 1994.

As the definition of a bootleg is a recording that is not copyrighted or officially released, we may conclude that this one, this not copyrighted or officially released limited edition 7” on green vinyl could be called “a bootleg”.

ok now?
cheers

Where comes the alternative Nausea version come from?
A Mark Goodier session?

And where do these come from?
Again And Again (Live)
Alternative Ulster (Live)

(I’m asking this because the Suicidepact seems to be down.) :D

Hiya,

Nausea was indeed from the Mark Goodier session, recorded in London on 21/11/92. It was on a free Melody Maker magazine tape, but I got mine from a cd promo called ‘5 Alive’

The 2 live songs are from “Some of the Rest” cd boot. Both were recorded at the Ulster Hall, Belfast on 30/12/95.

Hope that helps.

Hi Pieter,

I got 6 x 80 minute disks. They’re all full, and nothing is left out - I’m amazed it worked out so well. I must send you the track-listings sometime, so we can “compare notes”!

I guess that these “originally” came from my website since I used to have mp3’s of these on there. I haven’t been able to get “Some Of The Rest”, so can’t really be sure that are these the same tunes…

OpalMantra - the 2 live songs I sent you are from a BBC Radio Ulster broadcast. This is the same recording that ends up on “Some of the Rest”. There are fade endings on SotR and are slightly shorter in length - to be honest, the recordings I sent you are better than on SotR… Marko, I didn’t get them from your site so I don’t know what quality yours are. The recording I have is direct from BBC radio Ulster since I taped it myself.

I got the gig also on tape. I got it 1997 when my little sister went to Dublin. That gig is obviously same that you taped from radio since there is “peep” on every f-word… She gave me a bunch of live-tapes that were probably recorded from radio. I still haven’t done anything to transfer them to CD, since I don’t know how to make “song-marks” if I have a gig on one big .WAV-file…

Oh the songs I used to have on the site were always 128kbps/44kHz.

I use Cool Edit or Feurio! to mark tracks, Feurio! is better, because it’s a simple sound editor + CD-burning programm and a shareware, but it’s possible to use it for free without any limitations.

Well, it’s almost the same way to edit big files with Feurio! as Pieter described in his FAQ for Cool Edit. You just need to mark the start of each track.
In my opinion, Feurio! works faster. It also doesn’t need a lot of free space for temp files as Cool Edit.
