Infernal Love?

Started by Alan (Guest)

Infernal Love promo album (you know - the one without
the David Holmes mix crap) Therapy’s best album. Who
agrees? As for Nurse - some of Therapy?’s best songs
are on that…Neck Freak,Perversonality,Teethgrinder,
Nausea. Unfortunately only live versions of these are
classics - the album versions are pretty lame.
Therapy?’s live hayday…1995.

infernal love is a terrible albumn, half the songs suck and all that remix crap at the beginning and end of the songs drive me absolutley nuts.
good songs: MeVS.You / 30 Seconds / Diane / Misery / Moment Of Clearity.

OK songs: Stories / Jude The Obscene.

terrible excuse for music: Epilepsy / Bowels Of Love / Bad Mother / Loose and the last 8 minutes of 30 Seconds.

i’ll bust into Nurse now
good shit: Gone / Disgracelands / Nausea / Perversonality.

OK: Neck Freak / Hypermania

terrible shit: Deep Sleep / Accelerator / Teethgrinder (new version’s good though) / Zipless. - only 2 can’t be helped (Deep Sleep and Accelerator) if they redo the rest like teethgrinder they could sound a whole lot better.

Inf Love is a fuckin’ ace album.
Ok so it lacked T?’s edge that they are only now putting back ito their songs. I just love the cover of Diane.
Everything T? has done is amazing and everything is pretty much different from the last and you just have to accept it for what it is. Even Baby Teeth and Pleasure Death are completely different styles.

Best T? songs:
LITTLE TOUNGES FIRST
SPEEDBALL
LOOSER COP
DIANE
MISERY
SKY HIGH MCKAY(E)

Best T? album - SP-YF

Yep, Infernal Love is a top album.

Only Elilepsy and the last half of 30 seconds are poor.

Bowels of Love is a bit weak as is Diane.

I agree with Matt - the new version of Teethgrinder sucks!
That track was written around Fyfe’s drums , which Graham
cannot/will not play. But, the production on Nurse is pretty
poor…any Nurse songs played live between 92 & 95 (Fyfe years)
are miles better than the Nurse versions. Maybe it’s me, but
my appreciation of Infernal Love might stem from the roasting
summer of 95…i.e making it the no. 1 summer album! It’s the
feelgood album Therapy? have never topped.

I love the last bit of 30seconds
‘light at the end of the tunnel’ bit

The outro for Bad Mother drags a bit - the sampled drums which go on forever but its still a great song.

Therapy? Rule the planet - They can do no wrong

To Potato Junkie - do you have the promo CD of the
album? It has none of the mix bullshit. The only
reason I don’t listen to the normal version of
Infernal Love is because of that…the promo hasn’t
been out of my CD player since I got it about a year
ago. I recommend the promo copy to anyone who likes
the songs but not the mix.

I think ‘Infernal Love’ is a fucking good album. It was a bit different,
and they did change their image a bit, but so what. In fact didn’t
Metallica have a similar change of image shortly after? Hmmmmm.

yet another different opinion… i would rate T? albums this way:

1. Troublegum
2. Semi-detached
3. Infernal love
4. Suicide pact - you first
5. Nurse

as for infernal love songs… well, a couple of them in my opinion really suck (epilepsy and loose), all the others are ok with some major highlights such as misery, a moment of clarity, me vs. you and stories. i can’t see what’s wrong with bowels of love, either… andy often tried to sound like elvis in that period, and the words are quite haunting.
and, yeah, i like 30 seconds outro too. it adds meaning to the song.

nurse, now… i’m not very much into it, apart from disgracelands and gone. haven’t heard the new version of teethgrinder yet.

favourite five T? songs:

1. Screamager
2. Straight life
3. Stop it you’re killing me
4. Misery
5. Trigger inside

Rahvin

T? Album’s in order of preference
1). Troublegum
2). Nurse
3). Born In A Crash
4). SP-YF
5). Pleasure Death
6). Baby Teeth
7). Infernal Love
8). Semi-Detatched
I think that Semi- Detatched was their worst effort so far even though there some good songs on it. Troublegum is easily the best and I think 99.99999% of T? fans would agree with me on that.
Top 10 T? songs
1). Teethgrinder(Old or New Version)
2). Trigger Inside
3). Kids Stuff(it cheers me up when i’m sad)
4). Sister
5). Stop It Your Killing Me(i have a killer live version of it)
6). Die Laughing
7). Brainsaw(cool name brendon)
8). Femtex(it has saved my life)
9). Big Cave In(RIPP)
10).Evil Elvis

Some people may be suprised that i haven’t included Screamager but to be honest i don’t rate it very highly in comparison to the other songs T? have produced. Teethgrinder was one of the first songs tat got me hooked on Therapy? and i think that it is the best one that they have made. There’s something about it that makes want to take on the world.
Any this is my humble opinion added to the millions of others.

I second that.

I also object to the idea that supporting someones idea or right to speak should exclude you from some other little clique that has formed on the board.

If messiah pisses me off I will tell him and that goes for anyone else and I expect the same in return. By the same rules if I agree with someone I will support them regardless of what anyone else expects me to do.

This whole thing has gone on far too long - can we just move on and talk about something else.

Infernal Love is a damn fine album, although a little over-produced.
Andy doesn’t seem to like it, but he should be proud; ‘Bowels of Love’
provide some of his best lyrics and ‘Me vs You’ is easily one of the
highlights of his career. ‘30 Seconds’ always gets me excited.
Anyhow, I’ll provide my top ten Therapy? songs:

1) Innocent X
2) Unbeliever
3) Animal Bones
4) Big Cave In
5) Tightrope Walker
6) Perversonality
7) Dancin’ With Manson
8) Trigger Inside
9) Loser Cop
10) Accelerator

I’d say the shit between the songs is what makes the record even
bigger. It creates a spectacular feeling for every song , like
when you are at their show and waiting for them to come out and then
you hear some twenty-ton riff. I like that so I enjoy listening to the sample
especially misery , loose , jude blow me away that way much more intense than
when I listen to it without the shit.
