Some interesting new releases…

Foo Fighters - One By One: According to Dave Grohl, it’ll rock harder than the previous albums. I’ve only heard a couple of tracks, and it sound pretty damn good I must say…

CKY - Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild: Unlike what they think themselves, this album won’t reform the music industry. They just do what they’re good at: making music that fuckin’ rocks! Much in the same vein as the first album, it’s just that typical CKY sound. I like it anyway!

Feeder - Comfort in Sound: Very hard to evaluate… They managed to release an album in the same year as their drummer died, which is something that deserves praise and respect. I listened to all songs, and they seem to have slowed down a bit. It’s doesn’t rock as Polythene did, and of course the lyrics are pretty sad, but there’s some great songs on it. Their new single, Come Back Around, is one of the best songs I’ve heard this year. I just love Feeder, so I’m sure the album will grow on me, as their previous albums did.

Travoltas - Endless Summer: It’s an Endless Summer again with the Travoltas! Listening to their music always makes me happy, their music is always uplifting, and the lyrics sometimes don’t make much sense, but who cares anyway. They return to the sound of Teenbeat (Ramones meets Beach Boys), which is a good thing after their experimental trip with Club Nouveau!

Does anybody know any other good new releases??

I’ve been listening to the new Death in Vegas album Scorpio Rising loads, looking forward to seeing them next week. The guest vocalists are a lot more famous and less “cool” than on the Contino Sessions (Liam Gallagher & Paul Weller compared to Bobby Gillespie & Iggy Pop) and its more upbeat - but thats not a bad thing, right?

i’ve recently bought and enjoyed:

30 seconds to mars (self-titled): nice aggressive album, very sonic sounding, with a tool or a perfect circle kinda flavour to it… very nice… (in case anyone cares, actor Jared Leto is the singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist, programmer, and i’m sure something else too)

beck (sea change): heartfelt melancholy songs to wallow in… not typical beck, which is why i like it…

tegan and sara (if it was you): twin sisters, two guitars, a small backing band makes for clever, poppy, and fun folk-rock… and they’re from canada!

Another one: Beatsteaks: Living Targets

I don’t know if this is very recent (it came out in 2002), but it rocks big time (and thank you to my rock chick for giving it to me)!

Title: Pearl Jam

Well, I’m “Corduroy”…

Here are the lyrics:

the waiting drove me mad…you’re finally here and i’m a mess
i take your entrance back…can’t let you roam inside my head
i don’t want to take what you can give…
i would rather starve than eat your bread…
i would rather run but i can’t walk…
guess i’ll lie alone just like before…

i’ll take the varmint’s path…oh, and i must refuse your test
a-push me and i will resist…this behavior’s not unique
i don’t want to hear from those who know…
they can buy, but can’t put on my clothes…
i don’t want to limp for them to walk…
never would have known of me before…
i don’t want to be held in your debt…
i’ll pay it off in blood, let i be wed…
i’m already cut up and half dead…
i’ll end up alone like i began…

everything has chains…absolutely nothing’s changed
“take my hand, not my picture,” spilled tincture
i don’t want to take what you can give…
i would rather starve than eat your bread…
all the things that others want for me…
can’t buy what i want because it’s free…
can’t buy what i want because it’s free…
can’t be what you want because i’m…

why ain’t it sposed to be just fun
oh, to live and die, let it be done
i figure i’ll be damned, all alone like i began…
it’s your move now…

i thought you were a friend, but i guess i, i guess i hate you…

I bought a while ago Queens Of The Stone Age album “Songs For The Deaf” mainly because there is Mr. Dave Grohl on drums and I have to say that Dave can still can play drums… I found very hilarious to watch live version of “No One Knows” (killer track BTW!) from DVD and see Daves face movements. Hopefully the next Foo album is great!!

Come on, am I the only one who can’t stand the song, and ALWAYS switches the channel when she’s on to whatever channel as long as ‘lovely’ Avril isn’t on? I hate the damn song, and I really hate the video even more!!

The song is okay imho, it`s just that it`s played to often. Avril herself looks okay, but the difference between her and Britney “the puppet” spears seems not as great as Avril claims it to be I think.

I suppose the way she looks into the camera in “complicated” sometimes is supposed to look “cute” or something. It could be worse.

I saw a video-clip the other day on TV. It featured a cute little girl and some other cute little guys trying to sound very rock. And also trying to look very rock. But they were playing pop songs. What the fuck was that? Are we talking about the same thing here?

yessss, the new one from disturbed is pretty cool. the very first time i heard of them it was more or less two years ago when i was given a free album sampler outside the astoria - cant remember what gig i went to see though. ‘twas basically a 3-tracks tape and the songs were Stupify, Voices and Down With The sickness. great thing, those free tapes!

anyone heard anything about a new 3 colours red album?

(i must also say i got addicted to the new one from taproot..)
