The waiting game…

#

Started by hoochalobster (Sarah) Super Moderator

Isn’t it the worst thing when you buy something and then you have to wait aaaaages before you can actually have it? Like buying gig tickets 6 months beforehand - it’s the longest wait ever.

I got a kitten on Saturday and I can’t bring him home for another three weeks :( In the meanwhile who wants to suggest a name for him? You’ve got to come up with something or he’ll end up being called Dave.

Bazooka is good - we thought it would be cool to give him a dog’s name so I like Cujo, heh heh. 3 weeks to decide anyhoo…

How about Ceefer? Then you get to see how long it takes people to get the (somewhat weak) joke.

I want a dog, but first have to wait until I can afford not to work 9-5 (or 8-7 at the mo’), or can get someone to look after him in the daytime. Would call him Dougals if he was a collie and either Fett or Lupe otherwise (ideally would have a husky or something else wolf-like, but might not be too practical in a small flat).

That’s so mean!

When our cat had kittens i wanted to call them Alpha, Beta and Gamma, but they ended up being called Alpha, Betty and Spaghetti. We’ve also got guinea pigs called Jubilee (‘because he looks a bit Gerbil-y’) and Godzilla. So maybe asking me is a bad idea. :)

Our last dog had hepatitis as a puppy, developed epilepsy (which could only be controlled through an addiction to barbituates - him not me), and then had a series of strokes. And really bad breath. Given the amount of time he needed and the amount of free time I have now, I don’t think a dog’s an option right now - although the thought of coming back from work and finding out that the postman’s brought me one is quite cool…

Aargh, the waiting !
And there’s always the chance they will have to cancel as well. So with concert tickets, its like a waiting/hoping double header of worryment.
Double argh !

My Nanna had a Yorkshire Terrier called Tyson, which was quite embarrasing to shout out when it when ran off when you took it for a walk.

p.s Hooch, I reached the giddy heights of 190 points in Tetralink ;-)

I tend to do the polite laugh followed by a runner when they ask you directly if you understood - eek!

Dave indeed. One of the other kittens from the litter (my Gran was looking after them for the RSPCA) had been named Judith. How can anybody call a kitten Judith? No offence to any Judiths on the board but it’s really not a cat name is it? We’re still battling - at the moment he’s called Dave Cujo PI (in honour of Magnum).

Very impressed re Tetralink, I saw you at 180 something the other day and thought fond memories of the good old days when I could kick your butt. I have two IDs now though so technically I have like 300 points or something :P

Heh heh, thought you might notice. My first stopped working so I changed to that and now both of them work. If you try to play against yourself it clocks the IP address and makes it a non rated game. Not that I tried to cheat or anything…

Erdemcapar - good idea but I can hardly name the cat after the goldfish, can I?!

Bah…you get to 190 and if you lose you lose BIG!

Managed to claw a few back off you though ;)

Blode Blade: What the hell is flea circus like? If it’s any good I might give it a go. If I can tear myself away from Tetralink…
Proof enough that I can get addicted to anything! :)

Flea Circus is basically Leemings, only the little buggers are smaller and move faster, and you can’t delete a block if you put it in the wrong place so you HAVE TO START THE WHOLE BLOODY LEVEL AGAIN. I got up to about level 20 before i got well and truly stuck and gave up, and i don’t want to go back to it, because i’ll probably get addicted to it again… Besides, i’m meant to be working… working, yessss…

BB - I occasionally have trouble with Tetralink, it just keeps saying the server is busy and sometimes I get that for a couple of days at a time. Keep trying back cause it will let you in eventually :) I’d also like to assure you that Flea Circus is possible - at one point I was so convinced it was lying to me I quit playing for three months ;)

More a case of chronic insomnia but I think Flea Circus is a most worthwhile pursuit. Go on, try it. It’s a Tony Blair Dare…
