All Therapy? Music

#

Started by timfrichards (Deleted)

I’ve heard a lot of comment about Therapy?’s music standards, but…

Don’t you love it all?

I love the bad tracks almost as much as I love the good. It makes the band. It gives them “personality”.

I might be mad, but I’d love Therapy? whatever they did.

Sounds crazy - but crazy people have to stick together.

Tim.

Dear God. No. I don`t think it`s bad if you buy everything they put out out of the motivation of being a collector or something like that, but if you just think “oh it`s T?, it must be good!” you`re heading the wrong way.

Myself, I will always listen to new T? Stuff, but I didn`t buy the retroperspective when it came out for example, because I thought that only two new (not killer-)songs and a disappointing bonus disc wasn`t worth it. You have to keep an at least slightly critical view at the things you enjoy imho.

Doesn’t the word ‘bad’ imply that you don’t like it as much as ‘good’? I doesn’t matter which band plays a bad song, if it’s bad, it’s bad!

i see it the same way christian does (probably because we hav the same name). whenever t? puts out something new, i’ll sure give it a try, but i won’t buy it if it’s completly shite.

I’d buy anything by T? because I am a serious collector and want it all. ALL I tell you *maniacal laughter* - the shit stuff I buy and just don’t listen to (Shameless, anyone?) but I like it to sit on my shelf looking pretty :)

On the subject of shit stuff I bought the Ozzy Osbourne single with Iron Man on it - what the hell was that about? Still, made me laugh so worth it I think.

The bad thing is that the latest T? releases don’t even look pretty.
Whatever happened to the original Therapy? logo? For me it was the trademark of the band. And what are these damn bunnies doing in a T? album?
Hmm, i think it’d be an interesting thread, which is the album with the best artwork.

I agree that the Shameless (and related singles) artwork isn’t up to much, I have no idea what it’s about. I really liked the Semi-Detached stuff, I think that would be my favourite.

To be fair re the logo, I think they have been using that one for a long time as well. I remember years ago you could get t-shirts with that font that said “Heavy Fucking Metal” underneath - about ‘94/’95 time. I can’t remember what it’s from, an American motor company or something (probably getting confused and way off - anybody?) I much prefer the “proper” one though and think they should have stuck with it for releases, if not merchandise.

Do you mean the logo or the ” Heavy Fuckin’ Metal” tag line? The logo is based on Marshall amplifiers’ logo.

..goes a long way. i’d buy anything by t? if only to support them -
over ten years is a long time of my life and devotion to their music made me buy SP-YF, among other things. having said that, i’m not into collecting that much, i don’t need every single release out there.
i don’t think all their music is good but that’s not the point -
it’s still t? and big part of my life. oh dear how corny that sounds… hope you get what i mean ;)

For me the best artwork was the one for SP-YF. First time i saw the cover, i was like ‘weird…’.

I thought the cover was interesting - I like the whole concept of the different masks being different facades but I don’t know why the farmyard theme - herding? sheep mentality? being ‘used’? only masks left in the shop? I dunno.

I love my T?-shirt. he he.

T? artwork.
Most consistently bonkers album covers by a band I’ve seen.
Babyteeth. Bloke with turd coming out of mouth into other blokes ear.
Pleasure Death. 2 blokes with corrugated iron hat/mask thingies.
Nurse. An upside down eye.
Troublegum. Weird bloke with a skin disorder looking in dustbin.
Infernal Love. Most normal cover. Band wearing dodgy facial hairpieces.
Semi-Detached. Bored couple in 60’s kitchen full of tapioca.
SPYF. Shouty bloke with 4 animal masks on.
Shameless. Blue bunnies at the theatre/pictures.
I love-em. :-)
Phew!!

“life would be peachy if you would take an overdose of prozac”.
