led zeppelin

As an example - often been curious what way other T? fans would view a band like this, with therapy? obviously being miles apart in musical style, era, influences etc -would people who favour “alternative” music have such diverse tastes in the bands that they listen to, that they could like Therapy? and led zeppelin. Or are they viewed as old hippies by the average T? fan, who i would believe to be more punk orientated.
(This was inspired by reading that one of The Clash once said that even looking at a led zep albulm cover made him sick).

They are my girlfriend’s dad’s favourite band, and he’s a top bloke who plys me with whiskey (single malts at that) whenever I visit. Lots of the bands I like say that they were heavily influenced by them (such as the Stone Roses), so I guess that there’s something special there, but as they were before my time, I’d be unlikely to listen to them (or even recognise most of their stuff).

Presumably someone somewhere is thinking the same thing about the Clash, although bands do seem a bit too deferential these days.

About the only pre 1977 stuff that I listen to is the Beach Boys and David Bowie, although Roy Orbison still makes the occasional appearance on the gramaphone.

I really like Led Zeppelin!

I have always admire John “Bonzo” Bonham’s style of drumming and his drum sound, he was God.

If I had a time-machine I would go to see Led Zeppelin concert in the early seventies.

A fine band for sure. Like some of their stuff, but not keen on the folky stuff they did really. Just not my cup of tea.

More of a Black Sabbath man myself.

I am not really a fan of all these 70’s bands. They are way too old-fashioned for me. But i have to admit that Led Zeppelin have written some classics, and indeed Bonham was a great drummer.
