Cheers T?

Sounds weird, but listening to Infernal Love helped me through some dark times recently (I split up with my long term girlfriend). I found solace in Andy’s lyrics, about love gone wrong.

So cheers, Andy and T?

Actually the best love song of the Infernal Love recordings became a B-side :in my opinion Our love must die has it all, like Andy says on the acoustic bootleg”Which I did NOT record) this song is about somebody tryin to turn you into somebody else”…especially since I, and everybody on this board probably, have seen so many people change into complete other persons than the ones I/you used to know before they entered relationships, and yes, I know that if you get into one you’ll always change a bit, but not like day over night…

That’s really true, I’ve seen it with many people, even with people you didn’t expect to change. It can ruin a once very good friendship, sad but true!

Yep, so true, I have”lost” my best friend like that, he used to join me to concerts, pubs, cinemas…and then he got a girlfriend and that was it…although it’s not always a girl/boy that changes people, an other former goodfriend of mine joined a students committee and turned into a right arse…I am just glad that I’ve always been myself

People don’t change, they “grow”. I know that in myself. Getting older, I’ve realised I don’t have anything in common with my “schoolfriends” anymore. But I’ve met other friends more in tune with me. I think you become more “selective”.

This thing reminds me of a friend of mine living very far from me, leaving mails, e-mails and chatrooms as the only options to hear from each other. There was a time she was online ‘til late every night and it was cool to talk so often. I had found out she had just met a guy on the internet, who also lived quite far from my friend, and the only reason why she was so often online was to talk to him. It surprised me because she would always complaining about how tired she was and everything, yet she would stay up all night at the internet cafe. Now she’s not doing that anymore. The “affair” with the guy didn’t work, so no more point to log on to chat. I do sometimes ask her if she’s up for a quick chat just to see how things are going but the reply is the same every time: she’s tired or busy or depressed. The thing is, friends who just find themselves someone of the opposite sex - in some cases the same sex - usually take their best friends for granted. They ignore you for months while they can’t go out unless their bf/gf is with them and they think you will always be there for them. They can’t ingore their partner because, God knows, maybe they’re scared to lose him/her.
Then your phone is ringing and you see their number calling you, and you suddenly think, “oh, they split…”

I think thats the difference between mates and friends. People have loads of mates through life but not many REAL friends. I would like to think the friend I have had since nursery school would never ditch me for a girl.
