I’m not sure if this has been asked before but does anyone have any Therapy? tattoos ?

- just an idle question.

P.S. in answer to my own question. I have a tattoo but it’s got nothing to do with T?

Ask Rene, he was thinking of maybe put a little place with pictures of people that have T? tattoo’s, I’ve got two… the gemil and the infernal love hart… And a fantasy tattoo… There are some people around with T? tattoo’s. I know the drum-roadie of T? has a gemil on his leg, and some people e-mailed me… (I first wanted to put up a site with T? tattoo’s, but later I didn’t think I need to, ‘cause this site and Alex, Brendon, and some others site are a very good).
Greetings Iris
Rene, put a page with your tattoo’s and pictures of fans there!!!

You know, that Gemil tattoo on the back of the Face the Strange EP is really really horrible too. I have a fun little interview with Martin on my site where he talks about his tattoos, which I think I’ve mentioned here before.

I’m actually considering getting a tattoo sometime this summer, but I’ll probably need a good chunk of cash first. I’ve got the picture picked out, but I’m guessing since it’s 3 or 4 colors it’ll be pretty expensive.

They usualy charge by time taken. Price will depend on design (custom obviously takes more time than flash). For what it’s worth, as a ballpark, mine is about 5 inches square, one colour and took an hour and a half for which I paid about $160.

The gemil was put there by Hanky Panky (famous tattoo-er) for about $40… The Infernal Love Heart is about 10 centimeter long, one colour, about 50 minutes for $30 (local but very high recommanded tattoo-er)… I think that is not so expensive. But always make sure you go to somebody from who you’ve seen the tattoos on somebody else!!! Good Luck!!!

I didn’t have the oportunity to get a recommendation at the time so I shopped around quite a lot. As a rule of thumb, any decent tattoo artist will be happy to spend some time and show you their work if they are sure that you are serious about getting something done.

I would definatly recommend taking your time and visiting the shop beforehand. I eventualy got a Tigers head done in black at Pacific Tattoo in SF. It’s a great shop, very friendly and they did a good job.

RZ— Tricky little thing deciding to get a tattoo. Whatever you do please stay away from that tribal arm band fad or even worse is the ying-yang, dolphin, faternity letter trends. Yuck! My other half is a tattoo aritist here in KC (Kingpin Tattoo)and from knowing what I know from him you really don’t want to ask a tattoo artist to do some lame ass 90’ fad crap on you because that is what you will get, crap. Personally, I don’t have any so I should probably just shut up.

I agree.

I try not to critisize other peoples choice of tattoo but to put it politely there is a lot of stuff I have seen around that I would not want on my skin.

The SF bay area is full of college kids sporting tribal tattoos, mainly armbands, and in 20 years time it will just scream 90’s fad. BTW I am not having a go at tribal in general, I have seen some fantastic original designs, but to me a tattoo is a personal thing and I don’t want to look like everyone else.

I got my tattoo purely for myself and it took a long time to come up with the image I wanted. My main objective was to get something I would still enjoy looking at and be proud of when I was in my 80’s.

It may sound a bit prissy but it’s my body and I want to make damn sure any changes to it are to my specifications. I looked around at two places and the first one didn’t seem that interested in doing a good job just getting my cash, marking my skin and pushing me out the door. The second place I went to were genuinly interested in the design I had, took the time to talk it over and the artist had a good portfolio of similar work. They got my business and I got what I wanted.

Since I only have the one I wouldn’t pass myself off a an expert but the advice I would give to anyone thinking of getting a tattoo is think about what you want and find someone who is serious about their work (and tip them afterwards - you never know when you might want another one doing).
