Weirdest place you’ve found something Therapy?

I was in a bar near my college and we were playing a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire quiz game and one of the questions involved a band and one of the choices was Therapy? I couldn’t believe it! Although it wasn’t the answer I was just gobsmacked that it was there all the same!

Now you mention it, yeah, a couple of months ago, I came across that too. Not 100% sure it was on that game for me, cos unfortunately I am a bit of a quiz machine addict and I don’t think I’ve played …Millionaire for a few months, but I was just as surprised as you!

Not as good as the answer on University Challenge, but impressive nonetheless!

Talking of which, why is there never a “Rock/Metal” category on any of these machines?!

about 1 1/2 years ago i watched a documentary on german televison and in the backround they played the intro of ” a moment of clarity ” and later on a part of ” diane “, this was really surprising to me.
seems like someone of the tv-channel discovered ” infernal love ” at that time ;-)

Yeah, I remember that episode of Seinfeld, it’s where Newman and Kramer try to sell George’s dad’s (?) record collection to some record store guy! So that would be my pick as well.

Went for the first time to what I believe was the last night of the Saturday night rock club at the Highbury Garage in London recently. I’m not surprised they made it the last one — it was terrible. Anyhow, they played Screamager there. That might not sound weird, but I think in all my times going to “rock nights” etc, (over 10 years) I’ve heard a T? song three times… or maybe two, not sure…

Title: soap opera

This must have been when teethgrinder came out on single. It was either brookside or coronation street, (i dont watch such nonsense regularly) because i remember this person had a strong northern accent but anyway- the scene was some guy sitting on a staircase looking stressed and they had the interlude of teethgrinder …loosing his mind he feels it going playing , and he commented on it , something like - i know how that feels; or some bollox.

and the seinfeld and trigger happy episodes of course.

p.s. am i the only one who starts screaming like an idiot in these moments?

I once heard on the sports news, during the most beautiful soccer goals top-5, the intro to Nowhere. They kept on repeating it for 5 min or so…pretty insane.
On a local TV-channel, they once used Diane to announce their movies for the upcoming month.
And in the soap opera my mother watches, there used to be a poster from’Pleasure Death’ on the wall in some guy’s room…
That’s about it I guess…

Here in Ireland we have Gaelic football and hurling, and on TV these shows aren’t known to have good taste in music (the average sports nut in Ireland couldn’t give a fuck about good music) but lately, they played Screamager over a highlights package.

If they used this in ‘93 I’d be shocked, but the fact they used this only a couple of months ago! Well, I thought it was incredible.

Typical Irish mentality, 10 years too late :-)

Hey! I had that T shirt, until the washing machine ate a big hole in it!

Screamager and I think, Trigger Inside were both on the first series of Game On on BBC 2.

They used the Knives intro (the loud guitar part, before ‘My girlfriend says…’) for some show on Dutch TV about violent Dutch people in Salou, Spain. It was about how the Spanish people were fed about with the Dutch on summer vacation, because they destroyed hotel rooms, started fights, a couple of ‘em even set a hotel on fire! They used that Knives part over and over again, so I was kinda surprised to hear that. I guess it was two years ago or something.

In a stupid film called ‘Naked’ they where busy hanging teethgrinder-posters in the streets or so…
and about five years ago they played a troublegum song in an commercial on belgian television, can’t remember wich song, or what the commercial was about, i can remember it had some fast cars in it, but that’s all.
and then in another commercial for ‘belgacom on Torhout/Wercher’ they played stories (but that might be not so weird)

My sister always tells me I’m nuts if I start jelling again when I see these stupid details… so donVutz and Irishlady, … you’re not the only one :)

There was an independant Irish movie out last year called ‘Over the Edge’ about a teenager who tries to commit suicide, fails, and gets put in an institution. When hes having one of his loony trip they play about half of ‘Hes not that kinda girl’ and when his buddy kills himself they play all of ‘God Kicks’. Smashing Pumpkins also feature on it. The lead guy is the same fella from Disco Pigs. Its actually a good movie - check it out

a few years ago there was this daft irish quiz show called “2phat”. one night they had this gag where a rotund bloke dressed up in a santa claus outfit came on stage brandishing an electric guitar. i think the first person in the audience who guessed what song the santa was playing won a prize.

and when somebody guessed the song being played (jingle bells i think it was) santa whipped his beard off to reveal…Andy Cairns!

sadly most of the morons in the audience had no idea who he was, but i thought it was hilarious all the same!

Wow, would have loved to have seen that, and not for the reasons you think. I _LOVE_ Zig and Zag. Seriously. We had a little bit of them some mornings on The Big Breakfast, but never enough. Having said that, their Million Quid Vid was pretty appalling (except for Trevor and his Magic Duvet)…

Anyway, wasn’t Andy on some musicians quiz programme fronted by Phil Alexander (of Kerrang!) or something like that…?

well, i once saw an interview on that chanel with andy and michael…at the show with that nils bokelberg guy…and instead of talking about sport, like you expect that at a sport channel, they were talikng about t?’s music…but the funny thing was, between andy and michael that ex-porn star gina wild was sitting there with her big titts and the guys didn’t give her any attention, just if she was just air…:D

yes, that was the show with zig and zag in it. other irish people on the board may rememeber dustin, zig and zag as being collectively the funniest characters ever produced by irish tv(that ain’t saying much though!).

i think andy just had a laugh and didn’t care if nobody recognised him.

that show also played a shippet of the nowhere video on another occasion.
