Meat Abstract

urgh.

What are people paying for Meat Abstract nowadays?

The bidding on e-bay is now up to US $119.50, which to me, seems a bit nuts.

I paid £50 on eBay about a year ago. Vinyl junkies are vinyl junkies, I think you pay about a fiver for the record and £45 in smug points cause you own it ;)

quite possibly!

ah well, I know that a few years ago, the Record Collector price was £35, but that was at a time when I went to record fairs. So it could have gone up. I was prepared to pay a certain amount, but when it hit $120 I had to give up. There will be another one coming around. I hope!

I feel bad for the guy I big against — as always in a two-horse race the only person who wins is the seller…

You are too young, inexperienced, and naive, to handle such an historic valuable gem.

Hand it over… I could always do with a second copy

To think what you could _DO_ (oo-err…) with $120.

I mean, it’s like over 200 Mars Bars…

Wow! you have such a romantic way with words! (I dont even like Guiness!) :S

Lucky for me I have a boyfriend, so maybe I’m not THAT scabby, or minging…

Dare you to come here and find out just how inexperienced and naive I am! :p

(at this juncture I feel I have to point out how well Meat Abstract is looked after and that I’d sell my Granny before I mistreated/got rid of it)

Are we still talking about Meat Abstract here?

And just what is the appeal of vinyl? It’s brittle, cumbersome, not many decent (inexpensive) players are around for it and it scratches easily. Really never have seen the point of buying a song 1)on a format such as this, especially when 2)you already have it on CD

Maybe I’m just not enoug of an anorak

Got mine of e-bay for £43 as a christmas present form my ex-girlfriend. I’m to frightened to put it in my record played cos it’ll probably just fuck it up as it did with all my other T? vinyl :(

How come this ones going for so much?

Don’t know. Well, it went for $120 in the end. It had been about $70 which was fairly reasonable. And some guy was determined to have it and put a max bid on there that was… well, God knows. And I have to admit, I guess I kept pushing my bid up to see how high this chap was gonna go… but when it got to $120 I thought I’d best stop. There’s bound to be another one along at some point.

Gutted that I missed out on the 4 track Pleasure Death vinyl that recently went. I coulda won that one, just wasn’t paying attention to when the auction ended. Went quite cheap.

Holy shit! That was on ebay?

Whats the story with that anyway? Is it a pre-release white label promo 12”, or was it an actual EP release? That would pretty much mean that the artwork is different, right? At least a different tracklisting on the sleeve?

Thats a lot of questions, should I stop?

AFAIK it has just the four tracks as T? originally wanted to release the EP. According to the notes in my discography, though God knows where that came from, it was a white label EP, limited to 10 copies.

Although I have a niggling feeling it was 30. But maybe not.

I was gutted… it went for about £20.
