From “Lost songs”:

Valentine’s Day (instrumental) - recorded during the Shameless session. - “a long free-form noise-rant-jam that was pretty great — I hope it comes out some day” — Jack Endino.

BSF (Blood Sucking Freaks) (cover of a Black Halo’s song that was also to be on the above split single, also currently locked in a Sub Pop vault).

Oh, and where it mentions “above split single” that refers to this line:

Shameless (was to be on a split single with the Black Halos, currently locked in a Sub Pop vault) - “…is in a Nowhere / Evil Elvis vein”—Andy Cairns)

Yeah, I should have added that :-) I have been in contact with Sub Pop a couple of times and they are the most unhelpful b******s I have ever spoken to.

I tracked down Sub Pop records when I visited Seattle about 7 years ago - was expecting it to be something worth seeing but it was actually a complete shit hole. Was most disappointed.

If they’re sitting in a shit hole they could sell the copy of the songs for a handfull of bucks ;)

I got the distinct feeling that, even though it was 1996, they still felt the grunge thing was the thing to do, as did everyone under 30 that I saw there. Certainly they looked like the could do with the money, but also that they’d kind of resent being tidied up a bit.

The guy I spoke to sounded completely stoned and off this planet, both times.

If he also sounded unwashed and a bit whiiffy, then it was probably the same guy I saw :)
