One great live-moment I remember…

It was in 1998 when Linda McCartney had died. Therapy? were on their “Semi-Detached” tour in Austria and between two songs some guy from the audience called Andy. Andy kneeled down to him and the guy said: “Play a song for Linda McCartney.” - Andy: “Song for Linda McCartney? The next song is called ‘Lonely, Cryin’ Only’”

Andy asking us who he should stalk. Ended up being Richard Whitely. Tour before that he was saying who he was gonna kill, Venga Boys, Steps and someone else if I remember correctly

Been to too many to be able to choose one moment, apart from actually singing on stage, the scariest was walking out of Brixton academy to find brixton on fire and loads of angry black people rampaging!!! Felt like feeble elvis that night.

Best moment - T? playing Die Laughing in Newcastle and dedicating it to Father Ted (can’t remember actor’s name) a few days after he’d died or possibly the moment they got someone out of the crowd in Cambridge to sing Knives and he got the wrong song, so they handed the mike to the crowd and my girlfriend and I got hold of it.

Worst moments - dedicating Die Laughing to Kurt Cobain (sad fucker shot himself! He wasn’t laughing!) or possibly when Andy said ‘anyone who wears one of these (holds up a police helmet) should die’ - bet he’d still call them if his house got burgled.

Andy jumping right onto me while stagediving in Salzburg in November 2001. First je just grabbed my hand for holding and the he jumped. Very heavy… :D

What a cool concert that was! Hope it will be again this May! Anyone from the WOM going there? Superunknown? DLC?

Would be cool anyway to know who’s going to visit which concert.

I’ll be going to Munich, Salzburg and Aschaffenburg (if that one’s really going to take place!).

Best live moment? Evil Elvis live at the Leadmill Sheffield December 1999. Actually it was the leadmill’s 10th anniversary gig and they filmed the whole thing. Never heard what happened with the tape, though…

Moment to remember - Andy and the boy’s playing a shit hole in East Sussex, Royal Tunbridge Wells Forum, UK. Before the gig started the guy’s were messing around on a grassy area outside, the venue, just like fans, basically unrecognised, also one of the tattoo shown on the web site was taken by Michael at this gig, I love small venue’s, up close and personnel, excellent.

Also another one I remember was at a gig in London where the band walked passed the whole crowd to the back entrance and only myself and a mate recognised ‘em, odd but cool.

I’ll definetely go to the concert in Vienna. Heard it was changed from Szene Wien to Planet Music which is a shame because in Planet Music you can’t stage dive and nothing. Anyway, maybe I’ll also check out the gig in Salzburg one day earlier.

The Olympia gig! I remember that - it was fucking excellent. Graham made a pretty good fist at ol’ Meatster too, fair play to him…

Hope the mess didn’t take to long to wash out?

;)

What year was that?! Was it the semi-detached tour?

No but then I got a cassete recording of the gig and messed myself all over again (and the poor fecker sitting next to me on the bus). If you want a copy of that tape email me at colmjl@excite.com and I’ll send it on (quality isn’t the best but its still pretty good)

I think you’re right on all fronts there - it was the Semi-detached tour and a good gig I seem to recall - shame the venue’s changed to whatever it is now, but the Uni’s not too bad either ‘cos you can still get close to the stage (better than the Mayfair was, anyway).

Yeah, got that tape the next day too! Good ol’ Rhythm Records, eh? Those were the days; bootleg tapes in that shop the day after the gig, for a fiver! Nowadays, the feckers are charging 20 yo-yo’s for cdr’s… no cheap tapes anymore :(

Got any more stuff for trade?

Nothing out of the ordinary but I got a cool video of them playing the Milano festival in 94, Donnington 94, and some Scottish gig from 94. The only problem is that its an American tape so I don’t know how it’ll copy. I’ll give it a go though

For me it has to be their gig in Belfast in March 2000, when Andy threw his mic into the crowd and let us all sing along to Screamager & Church of Noise. Also got my ticket signed by the boys.. nice one
