Sounds good to me :D
But it’s true, isn’t it?: It depends on the sound you want. Use giant elastic bands, if that’s how you want to sound ;)
Personally, I prefer the sound the strings after they’ve ‘settled’ a little. Hmm, maybe Tatty and I can do a deal. He gets them for the first three days, then passes them on to me :D

Will save you on postage costs! :D

okay … thanks for thinking about the 20 euro extra, that come to the 2500 euro costs for the bass.
Do you like a trace elliot amp too? Lets see … i would say 500 watt x4 with a top and 30 equalizer?
At least, that is what i would buy for money.

Has anyone tried the new Ashdown Bass Drive plus? They’re only just out, and I can’t find any reviews of them yet.
(Or any of the other new Ashdown pedals?)

I like peavey. I’ve only got a crappy £250 C4 job… but its better than anything else I’ve played (high-end Fenders, Musicman, Ibanez, Gibson). The only cometition I can see it having is from Warwick or Rickenbaker.

Fender ARE crap, I like the sound of Rickenbaker, but not the play. Of course I’ve never played a Carl Thompson- but it just COULDN’T be bad. A guy with 45+ years of experience spends 2-4 years making it, it WILL be amazing.

I LOVE my Yamaha TRB 5. They are a great bass - if you don’t like Fender necks try these, they are very thin like a guitar neck. I am not keen on Fender necks either but i bought one just to try and get used to it. Surely all those millions of bassists couldn’t be wrong!
