Is there a recording of the more speeded up, punkier version of Diane out there. i love that song and really enjoy the faster version at the live gigs.

That’s not the one he means I think. There are three versions:

- The original Infernal Love version

- The ‘Lonely, cryin’ only’ version, which starts really slow, and gets faster towards the end

- The fast rock version they play at gigs. As far as I know, there is no studio recording of this one

I can help you with the last version if you want, I have several live recordings of this song. Just let me know if you want it.

Fuck yeah, forgot about the acoustic one!

The version on that page should be the fast rock version, if it’s indeed the Forestglade 2000 version.

There’s loads of live versions of Diane:

‘94 version - fast punk rock (also played in 2000)
‘95 version - Infernal Love version
‘96/97 version - slow, starts with bass intro, gets a bit faster
‘98/99 version - slow, cello intro

My favourite was the one that started with the bass intro, then builds up, and then the rest of the band comes in (96/97 version)
