It’s a Tom Waits quote. Another I quite like is “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.” Heh heh :)

Apparently this is a quote from the philosopher Francis Bacon. I always thought that it was one of Andy’s best lines, and when I found that out i was a bit disappointed ;)

Title: champagne

It is a quote from Francis Bacon - it was used as a toast after a tour hat finished in Dublin (the one where Clutch adn the yo-yo’s supported in England). The song didn’t surface until a while after that so maybe it just sat in the back of his mind.

I think You didn’t learn that much, Francis Bacon was a painter, and it’s not the first time they’ve used him as a source, eg, Meat Abstract and Innocent X, Anyway You should look into him more because he was a very influencial irish artist.
