Let’s discuss the ‘Best Of’ track-listing!

Let’s start an interesting discussion (for a change I might add). Are you as glad as I am that both Isolation and Loose didn’t make the final cut? Nice thing to replace Lonely, Cryin’ Only with the better SD-track, Straight Life, right? Why only two new songs? Personally I would have finished off with Stay Happy and not Ten Year Plan. It’s also a shame that forgotton single Trigger Inside and especially DISGRACELANDS are not on the tracklisting. Why only 5 or 6, what is it, trax on the second CD. Why include Where Eagles Dare and not Vicar In A Tutu, Invisible Sun, Come & Die or Iron Man. Why bore us for the ZILLIONTH time with an Isolation remix (of which the original is not even included on CD1). Why prefer Evil Elvis and Summer Of Hate above other b-sides, esp. the self-penned Pantapon Rose and OUR LOVE MUST DIE. Where’s the brought-back live favorite Unbeliever? Needless to say I can go on and on, but the fact that Nausea IS included makes it a damn fine compilation. Cheers, TW.

Any T? fan will have a particular favourite not included on the compilation(Bad Mother, Tatty seaside town two of mine).
However, does anyone else feel there is nothing unexpected on the compilation, I own every track included, and will only be buying it for the new stuff.
Perhaps a new E.P. would have been better.

Yow TW,

First of all, I don’t like Therapy? compilations. If they put some of their songs together on a cd, they should do more with it, eg. live versions, acoustic versions … but no fuckin’ remixes.
And where the fuck is Totally Random Man ?
I’m glad Meat Abstract is on it though …

In Therapy?’s point of view, this cd might contain their tops.

Cheers,
X.

I was just waiting for this to be brought up. No matter what T? put on the album virtually no one will be 100% happy. Personally though, I’d have replaced Straight Life with Black Eye Purple Sky and I would’ve preferred for the bonus CD to maybe be a load of live stuff from the new album that’s not been released before. Apart from that it’s as good as can be expected.

Personally, I would have preferred a Nirvana’s ‘incesticide’ type retrospective rather than this ‘Death to the Pixies’ style retrospective.

From this fact alone it seems that Therapy? are trying to attract new fans, from the Age discrimination? topic alone it appears as though T? don’t have many middle-teen fans left, and their concert in Belfast was over 18s. However, to attract ‘old’ / ‘true’ fans they throw in a couple of new songs which i think is a bit of a cheat.

Like the sucker I am though, I’ll still be getting the album, but I’ve never heard soem of the songs Tightrope Walker was talking about (like Vicar in a Tutu), and I would have liked to.

This cd nsounds fuckin shite - there is so much scope for a good double album with more rarities and live and new stuff but no- lets fuck off the fans and give them a bit of shite that they can all go out and buy. WHere the hell is potato junkie? what about fuckin disgracelands and neck freak and what about opal mantra and waht about dancing with mans…

i can go on. i wont. i’ll buy the disc as i want to have all their releases. Im not going to like it though and i wont pretend that i do. Buy the deftones new one and the new QOTSA albums for some top discs and you will be compensated for the dissapointment that ’ retrospective’ will be and already is.

if you don’t like then don’t buy it.
you have to understand that the band are not a really big band and they have to make a living. therefore, they put out an album which is more accesible to those who do not have all therapy? albums and singles. Let’s face it, if you had the chance to make say $1,000 and piss off a minority of fans or make $200 and please a minority of fans…which would you chose?

It NOT a greatest hits CD, it’s a retrospective. The CD is supposed to show the development of T?, from Babyteeth & Pleasure Death to Suicide Pact. Everybody has his/her personal favourites, so no matter what tracks will be on it, it will always disappoint some fans.

While we are talking about b-sides, is there any bootleg albums with all b-sides and/or rare track (ie not just different ver.) I’m pretty sure I have heard everything T? have released but its the unofficial ones I want to hear. MP3’s would be good as well.
