Therapy? London Gig review + Set List

#

Started by davefromoverthere

We know some of you would hate to have
the ending of a nice movie ruined, and
some equate set lists for the upcoming
tour to such an experience. So we’re
not going to tell you anything!

But that horrible suicidepact.com, does
it listen? NO!. So if you’re not wanting
to know about the london gig that just
finished a few hours back, I’d really
recommend you *not* go to
http://www.suicidepact.com, click on “Whats New”
then go to May of 2003. Or to the gig
review section. Because I’d hate that
you might go, and ruin your evening, and
unravel the vast secret that is the set
list for this tour, and hear about how
amazing the boys played, and how much the
show rocked, and how much you suck (myself
included) for not being there. That sort
of thing.

So really. Don’t go to suicidepact.com,
try to avoid clicking on http://www.suicidepact.com/cgi/review.cgi?review=134
.. whatever you do.

OZZY ON THE JUKE BOX!

there’ll be a few shots + perhaps a
video on suicide pact from the show
eventually.

and speaking of movies, saw the new matrix
and the ending.. you’ll never believe it.
neo turns into a tv-cook and keeps making
references to “turn it up a notch” and
throwing in herbs to his dishes screaming
“BANG”…

(hey i thought it was funny.. we know
who the naked chef is here, you guys
should catch the above. no really it
was funny. i swear. really. ouch don’t
throw things.)
(sad thing is i put the above in, and i’m
not even drunk. damned lunar eclipse needs
to get here so i can get to bed!)

I have seen t? at every London gig the band have played, although a brilliant gig with everyone going mental and having a good time, 2 things I was slightly dissapointed at. 1: very short set, 2: no obscure song voted by the fans.

Jeez, I really don’t like the setlist. Too many new songs, too many stuff that has been played too often. Pleeeeeaasse put more “Semi-Detached” in there, guys! More “Infernal Love” and more “Suicide Pact”! Where is “Straight Life”? It has been voted by the fans!

Yeah, that’s rare

I suppose they had to dig that one out, and learn how to play it again, as it’s been so long since they last played it.

:(

i agree 100%. i think albums like suicide pact and semi detached are great and deserve 2 songs each (straight life and little tongues first to be added to the set, anyone?), and if that means doing without die laughing and trigger inside, so be it. also dissapointed to see that 2 of my favs from HA - stand in line and last blast - were AWOL.

i know its only one gig and its impossible to please everyone after so many albums, but the setlist played on the last leg of the shameless tour was much better, much more balanced.

Title: London Gig

Travelled up from Brighton, fell asleep on train. Spent night in Brighton sidings.

T? absolutely fucking rocked once again. I gotta say, I havent seen a band in the last few years who get the crowd with them like they do.

Talking of set lists, I just counted 70 tracks they could play and still kill it. How many bands can say that? Could’ve played Straight Life, Hate Kill Destroy, Stay Happy, Jam Jar Jail, This Ones for You, Bad Karma and on.

Nice one, lads. Look forward to next year - perhaps at the Concorde?

It’s older than Straight Life & Teethgrinder and they didn’t play it last time they played London.

I’m guessing each Gig gets one of the Top 3 voted for Songs.

Really? Every single time I’ve seen them, they’ve played PJ. It’s also on the vast majority of bootlegs I have.

Of all the pre-Troublegum songs, it’s definately the one that’s been played most. I think it’s time they re-introduced “Dancin’ with Manson” to the set, especially as it came a very close fourth.

Yessum. I’ll check when I go home Next but I’m 99.9% Sure.

I’d’ve preffered Straight Life.

old isn’t the same as obscure though, and they did play it on MOST of the shows on the last tour, London not being the be all and end all of t? gigs.

if potato junkie and teethgrinder really did top that poll then i think people completely missed the point of it (am i the only person who voted for safe?)

How the hell can there be too many new songs when they’re promoting the new album anyway?!;)

Agreed! They could play three hours straight and there would still be someone complaining that they hadn’t played this track or the other.

Simple fact is the guys put on a damn fine show. You probably all loved it while you were there. Personally, I thought there was a good balance between old and new (even if they didn’t play my personal faves) and it was just brilliant seeing them live again.

considering the results of said poll are now starting to surface at the gigs, isn’t now as good a time as any to talk about it??? apolagies if you think otherwise.

Shit though was it packed, haven’t been that uncomfortable for a while at a T? gig, got pushed around all over the place and was there some fat bastards there or what, made Andy almost look anorexic…:) Set list was ok, and to my mind like someone else has already mentioned Potato Junkie has been played at almost every show I’ve been to so yes it’s an old song but that’s it I wanted Meat Abstract and stuff like that…

We already had a discussion about it, so that’s probably why you got this response. Don’t worry about it, and read my post in the poll thread to hopefully remove your doubts on whether it was real, and to find out that you were not the only one who voted for Safe.

Yeah that sounds like me, though towards the front to the left is also pretty much at the back to the right in that venue. Mind you, I try to keep things in good order down the front and am normally the first to offer an arm to somebody on the ground.

Citizen erased, were you the guy with the really long frizzy hair and goatee, next the the really tall guy who was constantly leaning over the front and try to look like a fuckin concert conductor?

I was behind my girlfriend (dressed in black and quite pale). I was to the left of a guy with a mop for hair and a big nose for most of the night (he had a studded band on one wrist), but when he moved we were next to a big bloke with a black T on, who looked younger tan me - towards the end of the gig we got pushed right to the end of the rail, and then made some ground back.
