I went to the London gig last night, the first time I’ve seen them in three years and I can’t believe I lasted that long! Been a fan for a long time now with favourite songs Innocent-X, Teethgrinder, Brainsaw and Tramline. I’ve seen four shows (including last night), the others being at the Reading Alleycat on the Semi-Detatched tour, Ozzfest 98 and the Lost Weekend Show. I’m off to see them again in Oxford tomorrow night. Nice cramped venue for a quality show. Bring it on

I got into them around the time of troublegum and been a fan ever since, though I admit that for 9 years service seeing the band only a handful of times has been pretty shocking.

Do you like the new album?

yes, I’m very impressed, although the benchmark will always be Troublegum which is perhaps why their profile has faded in recent years. It has actually been quite refreshing to not have the band slate the last album during the launch of High Anxiety because that had become a bit of a nasty tradition. Certainly Infernal Love was knocked down when SD was released, only for SD to be knocked when SPYF was released.

High Anxiety is certainly stronger than Shameless which I personally consider a little disappointing compared to other albums and so this is a welcome return to form. And the new songs were good live as well which is always good, though including seven or eight of them in the set and excluding Teethgrinder is unforgivable.

If the chance comes around, go and see them

I also found Shameless a little disappointing there is some good stuff on that album but i think the lyrics could have been stronger.Your right about T?’s profile is smaller, when i tell people i like Therapy? and they have a new album out they are usually surprised..most people seem to think they split up after Semi Detached which is a shame.
