Despite what people might think about Liam Gallagher and oasis - Oasis CLEARLY make better music and can CLEARLY play their instruments and SING.
Liam is not a junkie twat. He may be a knobhead - but Pete Doherty is in a whole ‘nother arena of knob-head-ism.
Plus the oasis guys all seem very nice and down to earth in reality.
In Conclusion - i dont think i should get shit for liking oasis when The Libertines are a fucking disgrace to music and humankind.

How is comparing Oasis to Libertines an argument?
I’m not saying Dohertys a nice guy, he’s quite clearly an utter cunt, but he was 1 quarter of the Libbo’s, so its hardly a fair statement saying “the bands a fucking disgrace” cos of one individual, who got kicked out anyway.
And since when has being able to sing and play instruments been the basis of a great band?
And, hello, the “oasis guys all seem very nice and down to earth”?? So, that WASN’T Liam getting repeatedly arrested for violence against folk and drug possession in the 90s then? Down to earth? The two biggest egos in music?
Come on mate!

Did you read that question before you posted it? name a great band that doesn’t have these qualities ;) I don’t like the libertines one bit so I won’t except that as an answer

one? Sex Pistols fit both categories! You could argue sonic youth as well, they don’t play “conventionally”.
Singers? Bob Dylan can’t sing but he’s instantly recognisable and is a legend. Ian Browns another.
I’m just saying that being a technically brilliant musician or vocalist doesn’t mean a fucking thing if you aint got the songs man! :)

I’ll accept the Sex Pistols :)sonic youth no, Bob Dylan is a legend because of his amazing song writing skills but he’s not a band and Ian Brown is just a twat in my opinion:rolleyes:

Bob Dylan: I didn’t say he was in a band! And “he’s a legend because of his amazing songwriting skills” is my point!!
Ian Brown: Well, thats no argument is it now?:D

Liam Gallagher is one of the biggest knobheads on the planet! A fuckwit! I don’t even know why he does his hardman act all the time - he got his fucking teeth knocked out! :p
And the only reason you get shit my friend is because it is so fucking EASY to wind you up :p

Yes but oasis make infintely better music than Libertines.
And I said I Agree that Liam is a twat. The other three seem really nice guys.
:)
I’d like to hear Pete Doherty come up with a song as good either Wonderwall, Some Might Say, Champagne Supernova or The Importance of being Idle. Or Even Mucky Fingers - easily the best song off Dont believe The Truth.
And as for using oasis as an argument, I was saying that how can people mock oasis fans when Libertines are utter shite ?

The opening two chords are similar but the rest of the song is totally differnet to Waiting for my man.
