what ever happened to good taste in music?

A year ago, I woulda joined in this, but fuck me, I like them. OK, I have to say that on an overall listen, their new album is somewhat repetetive and lacking in original ideas, compared to their first, it’s still good. But their first album, yeah, it’s a fooking masterpiece.

Oh, BTW, anyone else like Embrace?

I have to say that if they weren’t so bloody overplayed then maybe I’d be into them, I quite liked some of the songs but after hearing clocks played over 30 times in one day as I switched radio channels earlier this year I really started to find his voice getting on my nerves.

That said though, compared to the latest slab of depression that is the new Radiohead opus they’re practically full of Euro pop tunes!

Especially, as Clocks seems to me to be a U2 rip-off.

Melody Maker doesn’t exsist as a magazine anymore, NME bought it out and it became a web based part of their site. It’s a shame as they were often a bit more open minded than NME. Also, I thought Select dissapeared about 6 years ago? I haven’t seen a copy on the shelves since 97!

My word! I had forgotten about Vox! I moved to the UK and they were still doing it. But I could only buy three issues before they stopped publishing. Maybe it was my fault, lol

I saw Coldplay live and before that I didn’t actually dislike them, maybe they’re not my cup of tea but I looked forward to see them. Unfortunatly after 4 songs it got really really boring, I just felt like walking off but was squeezed in the second row. I was with some mates who are great fans and after the gig they asked me if i’d enjoyed it. I looked at their big smiles and was forced to lie..
I can’t put up with anyone called Chris Martin!! :p

hmmm coldplay, I wouldn’t buy any of their records but they’re not too bad.
They’re songs are listenable, and I quite like ‘talk’, its alright!

correct, select disappeared at about the same time as the maker.

but back on topic: i think coldplay are okay. but since they’ve made it so big i don’t care much about them anymore. “shiver” was (and still is) a top tune though.
