Yes very much, they rock. Trying to get my hands on copy of their @ BBC record at mo. Can’t remeber who it was but someone on the boards said it was cool. Haven’t heard it yet though! Are they touring at the moment?

hey, kill_hill. we know each other from the pl boards, so my answer should be clear: in fact I do like paradise lost a tiny little bit ;)

i only own one album - gothic - which is definitly a classic.

am planning on doing that weekender thing with paradise lost and the gathering headlining in dublin, but i really want to see cruachan and primordial who are playing support.

support dodgy irish folk metal! :D

yeah i know there’ll be nothing from gothic or any of their early stuff, i can just stand there and shout names of long forgotten songs at the band till i’m thrown out. well i’ve nothing else to do that weekend.

its too bad that PL seem somewhat ashamed of their past, something which a band like say, metallica aren’t.

well if your talking about the metallica comparison its hardly a different story since i think metallica are on album number 8 now and they always feature a couple of songs from ride the lighting in the setlist. and metallicas latter day stuff is very far removed from their old stuff also.

PL have the right to play whatever they like in a set but it doesn’t mean i have to like it.

I’m not into them as much as I used to be, but I’ll always have time for them, Icon being my favourite album. Saw them in Bradford recently and they still rock.

I used to like them so much I got their celtic ‘logo’ tattooed on me arm, in fact. Along with about thirty other buggers on Weeping Words, heh heh :p

you’re entitled to your opinion but you’d surely have to admit that its debatable, both bands are almost unregconisable as the bands who brought out “Lost Paradise” and “Kill em All”, arguing over who’s changed the more (or “evolved”, whatever) since then is pretty pointless.

well look at it like this, would “mama said” stand well next to “whiplash” in a tallica set? or “nothing else matters” next to “battery”?not really but the band still do it anyway.

am not a die hard fan of tallica (or PL for that matter) but i think its fair to say tallica changed as much as PL, to be sure PL are different now but they are still very much a rock band (still 2 guitar players - i think - thats a rock band in my book). and yes i have heard some of their latter day stuff.

those were only examples, i would have mentioned “the unforgiven”, “low mans lyric” ect. most of load and reload were folky rock songs that do not sit well next to thrash metal.

am trying to remember which PL album you are on about (is it host?), but does guitars/no guitars make much of a difference? radiohead pretty much ditched guitars for a while, its no biggy.

yeah am hoping for a good gig, aiside from ministry (who i’m not a fan of) and the big metallica gig it seems quiet enough for metal gigs in the next couple of months. would be great if slayer or someone came over to play the devils music!

I have to say, this board is way way better than PL’s board. It’s totally boring!

Its a bit quite at the moment but it does that ever so often. Poor Dick gets a bad doin but he does talk alot of shite as do a few others.

well i know you’ll just be saying “you shouldn’t have gone if you don’t dig the new stuff”, but i was still kinda dissapointed. don’t get me wrong, they gave it plenty of welly and nicks between song scarcasm is always priceless, but i found my attention wondering half way through. for some reason marlyin mason and rammmstein kept springing to mind, don’t ask why…

primordial (2nd support band) were brilliant i thought, the singer nearly had me in stiches, really funny!
