Yes very much, they rock. Trying to get my hands on copy of their @ BBC record at mo. Can’t remeber who it was but someone on the boards said it was cool. Haven’t heard it yet though! Are they touring at the moment?

Some… I really liked their Draconian Times album, and One Second had more to like than just one second, but, to be fair, less than 40 minutes…

Roll on the 28th of June!! Can’t say i’ll be getting there early to see the support bands. You should get your hands on Symbol of Life cause its fantastic and you ain’t gonna hear nothin from Gothic.

yeah i know there’ll be nothing from gothic or any of their early stuff, i can just stand there and shout names of long forgotten songs at the band till i’m thrown out. well i’ve nothing else to do that weekend.

its too bad that PL seem somewhat ashamed of their past, something which a band like say, metallica aren’t.

Different story really cause Gothic is very far removed from the latter day albums and don’t forget that Gothic is album number 2 and SOL is album number 9. PL ain’t ashamed of the early stuff its just that they don’t want to play them live.

well if your talking about the metallica comparison its hardly a different story since i think metallica are on album number 8 now and they always feature a couple of songs from ride the lighting in the setlist. and metallicas latter day stuff is very far removed from their old stuff also.

PL have the right to play whatever they like in a set but it doesn’t mean i have to like it.

I’m not into them as much as I used to be, but I’ll always have time for them, Icon being my favourite album. Saw them in Bradford recently and they still rock.

I used to like them so much I got their celtic ‘logo’ tattooed on me arm, in fact. Along with about thirty other buggers on Weeping Words, heh heh :p

PL’s evolution has been far greater than Metallica’s, you really don’t want to get me started on this.

you’re entitled to your opinion but you’d surely have to admit that its debatable, both bands are almost unregconisable as the bands who brought out “Lost Paradise” and “Kill em All”, arguing over who’s changed the more (or “evolved”, whatever) since then is pretty pointless.

I just think that its alot easier for Metallica to play their old stuff cause they have never really strayed too much from metal/rock. Have you heard many other PL albums? cause there are big changes over the years and the early material just doesn’t fit with the newer stuff. I’d love to hear Eternal, Shattered etc but it probably would sound right, sadly.

well look at it like this, would “mama said” stand well next to “whiplash” in a tallica set? or “nothing else matters” next to “battery”?not really but the band still do it anyway.

am not a die hard fan of tallica (or PL for that matter) but i think its fair to say tallica changed as much as PL, to be sure PL are different now but they are still very much a rock band (still 2 guitar players - i think - thats a rock band in my book). and yes i have heard some of their latter day stuff.

Your only talkin about 2 songs there. PL have had an album with fuck all guitars on em.

those were only examples, i would have mentioned “the unforgiven”, “low mans lyric” ect. most of load and reload were folky rock songs that do not sit well next to thrash metal.

am trying to remember which PL album you are on about (is it host?), but does guitars/no guitars make much of a difference? radiohead pretty much ditched guitars for a while, its no biggy.

sorry if i seem to be going on and ON, its a slow fri afternoon at work! :D

Fair enough points, its just that we ain’t gonna hear the Gothic stuff again which is a shame because they have some great songs on the early records. Ah well they have plenty of songs for a great setlist. :)

yeah am hoping for a good gig, aiside from ministry (who i’m not a fan of) and the big metallica gig it seems quiet enough for metal gigs in the next couple of months. would be great if slayer or someone came over to play the devils music!

well i know you’ll just be saying “you shouldn’t have gone if you don’t dig the new stuff”, but i was still kinda dissapointed. don’t get me wrong, they gave it plenty of welly and nicks between song scarcasm is always priceless, but i found my attention wondering half way through. for some reason marlyin mason and rammmstein kept springing to mind, don’t ask why…

primordial (2nd support band) were brilliant i thought, the singer nearly had me in stiches, really funny!
