2 Autographs of Richey (and the rest of the Manics)… (I had 3 of them but sold one on ebay for $130,-) Autographs of the Manics now a days on the set of photo’s they released. But also very early singles and 12” picture disks… and offcourse personal pictures, but they are no use for other fans ;-)

Ps. I think the most rare item that I’ve got is a handwritten paper of Sean, written down everything they’ve got released from 1994. We asked him for a drink after the show and he came with us, very cool!!!

Nope just interested in your collection Iris,i’m not really a die hard collector but i do have every song they have released either on cd or mp3.I think the rarest item i own is either Found That Soul on vinyl or the promo for There By The Grace Of God.

Wow, a whole thread dedicated to the Manics! :)
Got into them ages before discovering Therapy? (twas ‘91 and I was 10 I couldn’t understand the lyrics and what they were about but the music was just great) and they’ve always been my favourite band although I must admit their latest stuff isn’t as brilliant as the old one. I love the Holy Bible (“Die In The Summertime” and “This Is Yesterday” anyone??) and Gold Against The Soul, I’d spend hours talking about James Dean’s voice, the man rocks big time!
There was a thread on this board about covers Tpy? should do and I thought “Spectators Of Suicide” could be one of those. I’d be curious to hear that!

Die in the summertime -> Great song!!!

Suede toured with the Manic’s after they did the Therapy? shows together. They did not do it all together… I still have that tour-poster of the Manic’s somewhere supperting Suede…

Am confused… Suede toured with the Manivs, or with T? ? Either way, would probably have been most enjoyable. Are Suede still any good? 3rd album was okay, 4th was patchy, so never got the fifth. Second was great though…

Which means…

Suede… okay (although only have a copy of 2/3s of it…)
DogManStar… pretentious, but really, really good
Coming up…good, just not as good
Head Music… really, not impressive. Stop it.

Therapy? did some shows with the Manics in France and maybe more. After that Manics went on tour supporting Suede.

Suede - fucking great.
Dog Man Star - as great.
Coming Up - Alright, bit too poppy.
(Sci-Fi Lullabies) - boring.
Head Music - dull.
Positivity - nothing new here.
New one - who cares?

was it in 1995? that’s when I first got into Therapy?. I remember I’d read something on the Melody Maker. Then, even if they never worked together I kept listening to Tpy? and eventually became a big fan.. so thanks very much Manic Street Preachers, I owe you one :D

No way if that had happened the Manics would have never written A Design For Life.

Yeah Know Your Enemy is a bit patchy but there is still good songs on that album,Ocean Spray is a fantastic song i love the trumpet solo.

All the recent MSP songs have been very good i liked the two new tracks on the greatest hits album and the b-sides to the There By The Grace Of God single were very good and the leaked Forever Delayed song was brilliant it really should have been a single. Its finally going to released on the Lipstick Traces collection.

My apologies prisonbreaker

I like Know Your Enemy but i think it could have been a few tracks shorter and the production a bit better. The hidden track is called We Are All Bourgeois. The b-sides from the Know Your Enemy era were all very good.

I would have left off Year Of Purification.Dead Martyrs would have made a good single.Maybe the Manics should have included Masses Against The Classes on the album.

What do you think of This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours?

I know this album isn’t very popular with some fans but i think its a very underated album.

it really got some beautiful songs(You Stole the Sun from My Heart,Be Natural,…) also very atmospherique sometimes, I think it’s their most emotional album, maybe that’s way some fans don’t like it. It’s a very nice album, but just a little bit different than their elder work. I don’t have a problem with that, a band has to evolve.
