I saw them, just before Metallica, in summer 2004 at Werchter. I thought they play as well. It’s funny to see them on stage.
Whatever, it’s OK ; maybe the Darkness is a joke. But they know to play the music.

Saw them live. They sucked. They have about 2 good riffs, I’ll give ‘em that. And it’s Black Shuck and Get your Hands off my Woman, if you’re wondering.

Sorry I thought the album went down hill after the third song and i stopped listening by the time it got to the end. I will give it a few more spins to see if it grows on me. But I just don’t think they are a band that interest me anymore I have got well in to more extreme metal.

fair enough, I’m not some music snob within the few thousand cd’s I own I have every thing from classical to death metal, banjo music to weird dance stuff made up of sounds that your computer make, from hip hop to jazz. I thought the production was good, just that they try to hard to be funny and witty and they DO take them selves to seriously now and act like assholes because of it. I found the lyrics poor and the chorus’s shit! I may have enjoyed it more if it wasn’t so over hyped, and the fact that i am listening more to heavier music these days didn’t enter into me not liking it, they are just a band i’m not that interested in. Sorry for the rant:)

I wasn’t bothered at all!! Everyone has an opinion, and i’m not in the band so it doesn’t bother me!
And anyway, at least it was constructive, intelligent criticism, not just ‘its shit cos he sounds gay’ or something like that!

i am very very agree, I just heard the new Darkness album, I really prefere their first one. It sounds more “heavy”, more rock.
I’ve saw them playing at Werchter, they know to play music, whatever they’re fun.
It’s very probable I’ll listen it a second time.
