HIGH ANXIETY review

#

Started by BKFYA

So read this, it´s from our local mag Coolibri:

THERAPY? High Anxiety

“Irish post(!!!)-punkrock band that makes its thing, unflustered from fashionable trends. Todays kids hear The White Stripes, Hives or whatever. Behind them Therapy? must not hide, even not 2003. But they are no longer trendy enough to kick highschool students asses…”

SO WHO THE FUCK WANTS TO BE TRENDY??????
AND WHO THE FUCK IS MORE ASS-KICKING THAN TPY?
BE ASHAMED, AUTHOR…

That’s right (even with my signature).
Anyway, I’ve also thought about posting the review, so thanks BKFYA for doing the job.

nah, the reviewer is probably just a hip idiot who only gets excited by the new wave of post-modern acid-jazz with west-african influences in transilvania or something like that

Well, exactly, I know next to no German (for now…!) but I know I’m not a sausage.

I know irony does not work in the US — does it not work in Europe?

You told us you were a donut… I think jelly. If I remember correctly, Berliner is a donut factory? Don’t feel bad, Kennedy made the same mistake.

And that is JUST TOO MUCH Mr Izzard for us all! (I’m coverefd in beeeeeeeeeeeeeessssss!) :)

Er… not that I know German, but my understanding was:

Ich bein Berliner

would have meant “I am a Berliner”…

(in the same way you might say “I live in Hampstead”… Oo—ee! :)

But Mr JFK said Ich Bein EIN Berliner which means that he was some sort of processed meat sausage.

I have never learnt German so I apologise if I am completely wrong — but on this situation this is what I was led to believe… and quite happy to listen to corrections…

I have to say, as much as I listen to Mr Izzard, I knew that whole Berlin/German episode when I was a young, young, YOUNG, impressional boy, and I didn’t need him to bring it to my attention. But what’s that mean, hey?! :)

And those with the holy Biblee will know to keep their ears to the sides of the car, so that they can flap back in the wind.

AND — I may as well tell _SOMEONE_!!!! I was driving along the A14 (A1 -> Cambridge kinda way) oh yes, I was. And I passed a convertible TT with its hood down. It probably wasn’t, and it’s hard to know when you are driving like that (but think of all the times you have seen someone famous and wondered if they really were six foot tall rather than the 5 inches on the TV!) but I thought I was him. It may not have been. And no one cares.

But that’s my story.
