August Bank Holiday Fanmeet

#

Started by hoochalobster (Sarah) Super Moderator

I’m in the midst of organising a fantastic Wall of Mouths T? fan-meet in Belfast for the bank holiday (Saturday 23rd August mainly, plus the Friday and Sunday depending on who can do what).

Anybody interested in coming can email me sarah@therapyquestionmark.co.uk and I’ll pass on info regarding travel, places to stay etc. Plus hopefully a plan of action.

Suggestions welcome! :D

Well, the bank holiday is the only time I can go, and it would be really crappy to not turn up to something I organised!

Not too worried, I can guarantee this will be more fun than a festival but maybe that’s just cause I hate festivals.

I’m free those days… but it’s over E250,- for a ticket… probably because of the bankholiday. Else a returntickets is at most E100 (I payed only E45,- for a return when I saw Therapy? play in Belfast in 2001). TO BAD!!!!! :(

It might be cheaper to fly to Dublin and take a train to Belfast? Im not sure if you can book tickets online but check Irish Rails website.

Thats one hell of a bold claim! I love festivals, the atmosphere is great!

Bah. Everytime I go to a festival it pisses it down, the food is too expensive and at Leeds at least (Reading is ok) a trek to a supermarket is too far. The toilets are too revolting to contemplate, I much prefer the atmosphere of a small gig to a festival performance, and the security are just evil.

The only time I really enjoyed a festival was V2000 and that was cause I had a press pass, meaning the luxury of actual flushing toilets and much less hassle for drinking your own beer etc.

It would have to be a bloody amazing line-up to persuade me to go to one again :D

My brother has a picture of the inside of a portaloo, pretty much like that! Besides portaloos let you hone you suspension skills. I would never actually sit on a toilet at a festival, so I suspend myself above it using the sides, which is why I try not to have a shit for a fews days!

WP - At, I think it was Reading ‘96, we took a large container with a ‘ladyjane’ adaptor and just set up our own toilet tent, much more hygenic :D
