Talking during concerts!

#

Started by Ronald

Ok, last Monday I went to see The melvins and Tomahawk in Amsterdam, and me and my friend were having a conversation at the back of the venue( at the bar of course), all of a sudden this girl turns round and says” I would appreciate it if you guys would go and talk somewhere else”, so I told her gently that if she wanted to follow the concert properly to move herself, then her boyfriend turned round and tried to hit me…fortunately I was a lot quicker than the twat and got hold of his wrist…the guy behind the bar wanted to throw the guy out right away, but we didn’t feel that was necessary…half an hour later he turned round to apologize…strange, how aggressive people can get for such small things! and come one, I don’t smoke, but I am not gonna ask someone to put out their fag becuase it bothers me!…

I don’t know the venue they played in Amsterdam, but I’ve seen them in Cologne and must say that the Melvins were so loud that you could’nt have a proper converstaion during their set without shouting. :)

But you’re right, anyone standing at the shouldn’t complain about people talking. Though I do get pissed off by poeple talking right in front of the stage during shows

If they could hear you talk, they didn’t play very loud then. Talking, drinking, smoking etc… is common at the bar.
Some people have a really bad temper. :(

I absolutely hate it when people phone their friends on their mobile when at concerts and then start shoving the phone in the air, blocking your view and then start shouting into the phone.
These same people then get annoyed when the phone gets knocked out of their hand and trampled on the floor.

It depends on the concert… I was at Dauwpop last year and in first row where a lot of people already waiting for the band (Within Temptations) that played after Therapy? They where talking and watching annoyed over their shoulder because we where singing in their ears… can’t say that was really big fun like this, but if you are standing in the back at the bar that’s different.
I also was at a concert of Gemma Hayes in Amsterdam some time ago… it’s really soft and not loud at all, if 2 persons where having a conversation everybody would hear it… but if was so peacefully quiet, it made the gig great!!!
So it depends on the gig and where you are standing…

something that also is very hateful is when you’re watching a footballmatch or an outdoor-concert and it begins to rain so that all people grab their umbrellas and you can’t see shit
