Thursday I get my A-level results and I’m not particularly looking foward to it. Plus the university I want to go to just sent me a text saying good luck, I’m being stalked! :(

That’s true! I have a friend who works for EA games, since he started there his quality of life has improved dramatically, they’re amazingly good to their staff as well, I believe they were voted the 7th best employer in Europe recently.

I didn’t know anybody who ever got too worked up about their results when I was at sixth form, I think the majority of people now seem to accept that Uni is basically putting off the dole for 3 years!

I’m hoping to study Politics & Philosophy at the University of Sussex near Brighton.

However. My second choice is the same course at Lancaster University.

Well then WP, how did you get on?

Hairy Joe..don’t go to Lancaster! It’s got the highest rate of suicides amongst it’s students than any other University! I had a few friends who went there and one of them told me how he’d woken up one morning and as he opened his bedroom curtains he saw somebody fly past! Apparently the poor sod landed on some railings at the bottom of the building and spent the last 3 days of his life in a lot of pain.

Mind you, if there was anybody there you really hated I suppose you could just chuck ‘em off the top and say that they’d been feeling down the past couple of days!

WP, hope the tooth isn’t too crappy, and that you got good news as well.

‘Course, it was all much harder 11 years ago… ;)

How did you do? I’m going to Lancaster University and I bloody well won’t be committing suicide. It’s the loveliest place in the world. I wanted to do politics too but I didn’t think I’d get the grades so I applied for a crappy course which I regret cos I got better than I thought I would.

You can always see if you can switch courses after you’ve started, the drop out rate at Universities is highest in the first few weeks so you may be able to get on the course you originally wanted.

I was thinking about that. I’ll just see what happens I suppose. It’s not like I have any idea what I want to be career wise. Actually, I want to write for Mojo magazine and interview David Bowie weekly. That might not happen though
