Save the Rockpalast!

#

Started by donVutz

the german people here should now the tv show “rockpalast”, for those who don’t or those who care: rockpalast used to show 5-6 hours of rock concerts in a row, mostly taken from festivals like “rock am ring” or “bizarre”. it is the one of the last chances to see some t? gigs live on tv (if i remind corectly, they showed the t? at bizarre 2001 completly). this show now is reduced to 60 minutes and people are afraid that it may disapear.
if you care about keeping live rock music alive on the telly please visit http://www.rettetrockpalast.de and sign the petition.

I couldn’t stand to see Alan Bangs moderating kiddy shows like The Dome just to make a living.

Yeah, I get “Rockpalast” on WDR via satellite in Ireland. To my knowledge they’ve shown the full Therapy? gigs at Essen 1993, Bizarre 1998 and Bizarre 2000, which makes it a bloody good show.

Maybe they’ve had problems with broadcasting rights? Afterall, they do show full concerts by famous artists, so maybe it’s just costing them too much money?

Here’s a preview of the forthcoming broadcasts of the Rockpalast. Sometimes they have more time again (from 01:00 to 3:00), but it’s definitely no whole night as earlier.
Maybe the broadcasting rights have become too expensive, as Alan suggests. Evidence for this might be the fact that the WDR now seems to focus on their own concert series staged at the Underground in Cologne.

Voted for all three of them (it’s Bizarre 2000, not 2001).
