New T? albums

#

When I first bought Troublegum it took a while to get into it because I was such a fan of Nurse, BabyTeeth & PleasureDeath, when I got Infernal Love it took a while to get into because I was such a fan of Troublegum, when I got Semi Detached it took me even longer to get into it because I was such a huge fan of Infernal Love (still my fave) , when I got SP-YF it took even longer to get into because I was still trying to get into Semi D, When I got Shameless, same as before took a while to get into, High Anxiety…pow!! back to their brilliant best.
And my point is? None…T? are quiet simply a great band who put out great albums that may sound different at first but as with a fine malt whiskey each album simply gets better with age.

Sorry for boring you all with my inane observations. Then again according to the poll I am 1 of only 2 people over the age of 35 so that makes me a boring git.

Well, you make a fair point for a boring git ;)

I love that no two T? albums sound the same, makes them interesting! I’ve not had trouble getting into any of their albums immediately, except Shameless. It completely eludes me still.

Hi there fellow boring git.. ;)

And you’re absolutely right about Therapy? albums.
They’re all different, but you can tell it’s T?
I dunno how they do it, but they’re the best band around.
Most bands would be either disbanded or churning out the same old stuff year after year by now.

It’s such a cliché, isn’t it? “Every album sounds so different!” But they really do… the earlier stuff was more industrial and maybe very slightly technoey in places, then Troublegum was punky poppy, Infernal Love more mellow and melancholy, S-D experimental and odd, Suicide Pact screamy and loud, Shameless was crap, High Anxiety… harder to pinpoint.

It’s the one thing that keeps me interested in them and not most other rock/metal bands.

I really took to Shameless straight away, as I guess I like the different styles of songs, I loved ‘This one’s for You’, ‘Wicked Man’ and ‘Endless Psychology’
Totally agree with you about sometimes not being able to get into an album straight away, for me it took a good couple of listens to Infernal Love, but then it clicked and the tour was superb with the stage lights in the shape of a heart.
