The worst CD you got

#

Started by Phantom (Antonio)

What is the worst CD you ever bought/received as a gift in your life?

I mean, the kind of thing you see on your shelf while searching for something to listen to, and you think “Oh my God, this is crap, why do I still keep it?”

Anyone can do mistakes… so everone should have at least one of these horrible objects.

My own one, I think is Cake’s “Fashion Nugget”. I listened once, partly. I won’t do it again. I HATE that trumpet

I don’t remember the name of the album, but the band was Bright Eyes. Most atrociously boring, depressing pile of goo I’ve ever picked up. Of course, if I ever had gotten any Steely Dan album, that would be the worst. Thankfully, I didn’t happen.

I think that there’s a lot of samey sounding tracks on Deth albums, especially the later stuff, but Sweating Bullets, Holy Wars, Kill the King etc just rule. :)

Ah, that’s why they seem to be fairly successful and getting good reviews. :)
I don’t like them either.

My greatest disappointment was Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz. The title track is such a rock anthem, but the rest is total bollocks.

I Love that album!! and the trumpet!!!

My current worst? The Man Comes Around by Johhny Cash. I’m a huge fan, and when I heard his version of NiN’s ‘Hurt’, I thought ‘here we go’, but the rest of the album is too poor to deserve the title ‘crap’.

Lol, yup on both accounts! I heard the new Bright Eyes stuff, and I’m still not impressed, even though they made it more radio friendly.

As for Kravitz… yeah, it would be nice if someone had told me that the rest of the stuff on the album was going to be funk music. Man, I hate funk. I got suckered into that too. Great guitar player wasted.

To me, 80’s Country music and Funk have a lot in common… both go well with Rhinestones and both are overrated. There’s more, but who wants to hear me rant about music? :)

Hahaha. Oh man, that album’s genius. I really, really enjoy it, although I have no idea if I like it. It’s completely stupid. :D

I dunno whether I should say Blur’s Think Tank. I think my hatred for the album is largely to do with how much I loved the band before it.

Humanoid - Global. The Future Sound of London are my favourite band, and this was an album that one of the members recorded in the late 80s. It’s horrible 80s house music with awful rap and soul vocals… I paid £20 for the vinyl, as well, as it’s so rare. Fucking awful CD.

You kidding? L.O.A. rule!
Also, Cake, Megadeth and Bright Eyes are okay bands in my book.

However, I do have some really bad albums in my collection: Status Quo, Mr. Big, The Beave, Novella (=2 Christian Rock bands, these aren’t my fault, they were given to me by my Godfather), Freaky Fukin’ Weirdoz, The Bates, Winger, Thunder, Limp Bizkit… there’s a story behind most of these stinkers, but there’s just no possible excuse for having albums by these bands (and even liking some of them [Mr. Big, Status Quo])
