Title: finally
got mine yesterday.
nice dvd, although I expected a little bit more of it.
there were more clips available and it’s a shame they aren’t all on it. I know this has something to do with copyrights and stuff …
the gig is ok, but do people in Northern Ireland are always that quiet during a T? show ? it seems that things are a little more rough in Belgium, maybe my perception is wrong but it seems so calm.
the sound of the show is just a little too clear for me. sometimes it’s like you listen to a cd instead of a live recording.
but my German is getter better now, I now know what an Eisenpimmel is :D

I think that the noise of the crowd is just mixed a bit more in the background during the songs…
Eisenpimmel is the the only German word you gotta know, and the name of an awesome band, too ;-)

If you take a look at the dvd’s directory in your pc’s dvd drive you won’t find any files you can’t access from the normal menu (at least I didn’t).
I did try that before i posted i was just checking because on the HMV site it listed Scopophobia as having easter eggs.

Title: YES!
I finally received my copy yesterday. Many thanks to nice guys and his hint about emailing play.com!
btw, I spent the night watching it (using headphones - I also have to meet the WAF) and I found it very good.
I agree about the poor live feeling of the first two or three songs (most of all cause Andy’s voice lack of ‘echo’) and I wonder if they made some studio overdubbing to correct problems in the live recording… who knows if we’ll have the thing explained some day…
Anyway, the gig is great but too short. I’ve felt some songs are missing, like Misery or more tracks from SP-YF (Jam Jar Jail?). Honestly, I thing that if T? made a setlist with only my own favourite songs, a concert could last 6 hours or more… and I care fore their health :p
Great videos! I only saw once (and recorded) Diane’s one on MTV, so it was very funny to discover how they look in the past ones (Father McKeegan in shorts!).
Favourite video: don’t know yet, but I think Nowhere won’t be part of the list :D
The ‘backstage bonus’ is GREAT!
Just one thing: I know some of the wommers are here and there on the DVD and, as I’m quite new on the WoM, I’d love to know who is on it and where just to put a face on a (nick)name. Can someone make a list (with section and time and/or comments) of the WoM Special Guests?
Time to go now… see you soon…
I fucking love you! :D

I bought Scopophobia last Saturday. I think it’s a decent DVD, nothing more, nothing less. The gig is a bit ‘standard, isn’t? Very predictable setlist, and a pretty short one. And I also noticed the clean sound in the first couple of songs, it doesn’t sound live at all. The videos, the tour documentary, and the Q&A section are great though, so all in all I think it’s well worth the money.

It’s an alright effort I think. Some moments slightly laughable - like the head merging during the gig. I suspect whoever did the Q&A filming got a bit trigger happy with that function. Nice to have decent copies of some of the videos finally anyhoo.

I am on it, but frankly I look a state and it’s embarrassing, so I shall not say where. I also spotted Jojo, Dano, Carrie, Mikeymoko and Jonny. I think possibly more but will have to watch again to check.

Does anyone else think that Andy’s voice sounds strange durcing the gig? It’s like way to clear, as if they recorded it in the studio or something.

Yes, I thought the same, although I think someone said it sounded a bit more as you’d expect after a couple of tracks.
Anyone know if the system you play it on makes a difference? I just played it through my PS2 & v old TV

Yep, there’s Church Of Noise, Turn, Opal Mantra, the banned version of Isolation, Little Tongues First, and both versions of Stories, that are floating around.
Also, there was the early school project videos for Meat Abstract & Innocent X, and a hastily put together video for Bad Karma, which was a collage of live clips and clips of old promos stuck together.
There might have been a similar “collage” thing for Gimme Back My Brain, but I’m not sure. But there definately was a live promo (from the Visions Party gig) of the song going around, cos I have it on an Ark21 promo video.

i know what you mean, but it didn’t seem like that at the time… i thought it was a pretty standard n.i. crowd - who most bands tend to say are really good and quite mad. but when you watch the video, they do seem pretty reserved - i don’t know what happened - maybe the dvd doesn’t do it justice - like the way things always look different on tv to what they do in real life?
what does anybody else that was there think?
on the webcast from holland the crowd looked bored too…

I think it must be a TV thing - certainly didn’t seem reserved from the middle of it! In Leeds Michael said they were really happy with the crowd shots and they’d chosen what they thought were the best moments for the close-ups of people.
