Title: HALLOWEEN
I went to some nirvana/rhcp tribute thing in the ulster hall and left halfway through cause i got that old “this aint right” drunken attitude - seeing someone impersonate kurt cobain , because i was a big nirvana fan when i was younger. Then i ended going too the local bar because there was no chance of getting in anywhere exciting because it was too late. A ghastly evening all round and it was worse too because it was my birthday - i probably would have got more fun at an Iraqi POW camp!

Finally saw the mighty FEEDER last Friday in Amsterdam. They were as good as I expected, which is a good thing cos my expectations were really high! The venue was sold out (it was a small venue, about 800 people), and they played for about 90 mins. Great setlist, although they didn’t play my two fav tracks (My Perfect Day and Turn).

hi, i saw radiohead last night at earls court. they were very very good. even in a huge shed the size of earls court they managed to pull it off. the set was mostly taken from “hail to the thief” but there were a few surprises such as thom performing “follow me around” on his own and most unbelievably, they played “creep” which i really wasn’t expecting. only problem is i missed my train back and didn’t end up getting home til about 8 o clock this morning. oh well. :)

they were both times absolutly brilliant!…although in hannover the sound wasn’t the best, but f**** i don’t care…i saw mr. james hetfield and not only heard him like last time, when all those 2m guys were standing in front of me…
so 2 hours and 30” full with energy, that’s the way i like it
and godsmack as a support was a really good choice too!
i especiacially loved it, when all of the sudden the drumkit was “cruising” around on stage and they got another one next to it and the drummer and the singer( sorry, don’t know their names) were drumming like hell for at least ten minutes!
yeah! can’t neil have s.th like this too?

Wilt in Whelans. Very good it was too. The support bands were pretty good too, a band called Label and a three piece girl group whose name I didn’t catch, but sounded like Babes in Toyland (this is a good thing).

Aereogramme and Oceansize in Essen yesterday. An amazing package. I think I’ve recommended the ‘Gramme quite often before, so now it’s time to say:
Check out Oceansize, they’re brilliant. They played six songs in about 50 minutes and they managed to get the audience listen to all these long songs and didn’t bore at all (eat this, Mars Volta).

Machine Head last night. It was pretty good. The new guitarist seems to have more of a stage presence than Ahrue, but less than Logan Mader. The new songs were good too, no Burn My Eyes, but no Supercharger either. They didn’t play “Old” or “Struck A Nerve”, but they did play “Take My Scars” and “Ten Ton Hammer”. They also covered “Creeping Death” with a little bit of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” in it. The only thing that sucked was the gig didn’t finish till midnight, whic means I didn’t get home until half past 1 to get up to go to work at half past 6 :( I’m soooo tired today. Must be getting old :)

Normaly I’m out listening to music on the local punk-scene 2-3 times each month. But I’ve been a bit too busy for the last few months.
My latest big concert was Iron Maiden in Copenhagen.
I went to a local venue last weekend when finishing a christmas party. But I was too drunk and fell asleep when the band came on stage. I remember something like 6 girls playing garage-rock-punk-electronica-whatever.

i’ve been to my first concert at the age of 11…so, how you get along without concerts? i couldn’t imagine life without concerts, cause it’s so good to see / hear the artist, and maybe to talk to him (/her/them)…that’s what you’ll never get only by listening to CDs…
so, why??

Am going to play my MM albums non-stop this weekend.

Oh, and for all lovers of German music. Check out Olli Schulz und der Hund Marie. He opened the show yesterday and is so funny, besides making good music. Get his album ‘Brichst Du mir das Herz, dann brech’ ich Dir die Beine’ (for all non-Germans: ‘If you break my heart, I’m gonna break your legs), definitely the one with the best title this year.
