I know of a song by Liz Phair called Dead Shark. It’d be cool if that was the song T? played.

Andy said something about doing a new song or bit every night, but I missed a part of what he said. To summarise the song, Dead Shark was one minute of noise, I didn’t really like it.
As for the gig, it was brilliant!! The first half hour went by a bit ‘peacefully’, without much noise and movement from the crowd, but it was quite impressive to see and hear how the guys managed to turn the crowd into a moving, singing, and noise-making bunch. It was a perfect venue, about 500 or 600 people, (almost) sold out. The guys were in a great mood as well, funniest moment was when Andy totally humiliated the dork (with whom I had an argument as well because of his swinging elbows, should’ve punched his glasses from his nose!) raising a lighter during Diane (the slow version). He was the only one in the crowd doing that, Andy said something like: ‘(laughing)… Look man, I really love you, I mean, you paid for your ticket and all. But you’re the only one raising a lighter, during a song that is about rape!’. Also really cool was when he put the microphone in the crowd several times, I got to sing along with Die Laughing, Potato Junkie, and Trigger Inside, yeehaa!!
Nice to meet some WOMbles again, see you in Utrecht tonight! I’m going by train and will take some mates with me. I just have four words for you: I’M GONNA GET DRUNK!!!

So it can’t be a Liz Phair song.

Good summary Michael ;)

The show was much better compared to Groningen, mostly because of the venue itself I think… this is the kind of clubs T? should be playing… but the guys also seemed to be in a much better mood than in Groningen…

And it was only the second day of the tour and already all my drumheads are signed :D

Fuck yeah, Utrecht here we come :D

Great gig indeed, loved the fact that they played more “oldies” then new tracks.

The place was ok aswell, apart from some fuckers wich i have no diea about what they were doing there. I think they were hanging in the pit aswell. ( the dude with the elbows)
Kinda the reason why i left the pit after 2-3 songs.

other then that it kicked ass as ususal!

Altough Andy should be hanging his head for the “This is our first time in Weert” part hehe.

Cheers J

are you coming tonight? well, then check out the first row…we´re collecting pictures of the wombles…

yeah well, and andy told us, they will change the setlist every evening, so that´s not getting to boring for us :D…but actually i don´t care, what they are changing, as long it kicks ass…so that should not become a problem :D

Yeah, but I corrected him on that one, reminding him of Bospop! You can’t blame them for forgetting Bospop, they play so many gigs. Besides, Bospop wasn’t that memorable compared to other gigs I’ve seen.

If you can’t stand the heat stay out of the kitchen!!

I mean it is a rock concert and the pit was not that bad. People were just jumping and pushing around with no hard feelings. Nobody was trying to abuse or hit eachother. It was good the pit started because else it looked like a elton john concert. If you stand in front you can expect something like that (or didnt you go to the melkweg in may this year were there was a much more nasty pit.)

About the gig it was great!!!!! Met the band afterwards and had some nice small talk. Another great night thanks to therapy

Thats a load of bullshit!

There was this guy with a cam, some other dude was jumpin into him just to get the cam to drop!
Another dude got elbowed in the face , 3,4 times in a row. And i saw who did it, and it wasent a fuckin accident. Those dudes where there just to get into a fight, that they dident succeeded is due to the mentality of the others in the pit!

I’m from vienna.
it would sure be great to join you…but I’m totally out of money. :(
and now even more, ‘cos some friends of mine dragged me to a ‘wir sind helden’ gig. if you ever get the chance to see them: run as fast as you can, and save the money, d’oh!

but I expect you to give me a detailed life report from the stuttgart set!

If that is what happend I agree with you. I didn’t see it so excuse me for being wrong.

I was also in the pit and maybe i was lucky and didn’t get assaulted by an elbow. I think i was to busy enjoying the gig and didn’t see them messing around. Ther are always some fucked up people around and this time I was lucky by not meeting them

So again excuse me for being wrong.

About the show…Fucking great!!!!!!!!

by the way1: any recordings yet?
by the way2: same here, what about the merch? any new t-shirts or sweaters or something?

Regarding new merch, there’s a couple of new things. First of all, a grey/green hooded sweater ($45 Euros I believe). And a really cool shirt with a pic of Andy ‘in action’ on the front, and the tour schedule on the back. It also says ‘Scopophobia 2003’. And there’s a shirt with a picture of the front of High Anxiety, but I don’t know if this one is new. I also noticed they sell badges and stickers, never saw those at gigs.
