I love Utrecht

What a fanfuckintastic show yesterday at the Tivoli. It was my 25th T? gig ever, my first T? club show in Holland, and it was one of the best T? gigs over the last years.
But what can you expect from a set that gets started with Screamager and Turn?
It was a brilliant set list, well balanced between old and new songs with loads of memorable moments:
Potato Junkie leading straight into Stop It You’re Killing Me, Die Laughing dedicated to Elliott Smith, Isolation with She’s Lost Control woven into it,… (I think someone will come up with the complete set list)
The band seemed to enjoy the gig as well: Michael with some breakdance interludes and always eager to present his buttocks to the girls, Andy goofing around and Neil giving away a drum stick to one of the stage divers.
The venue right in the heart of Utrecht seems to be an old cinema (I like that), so good sight and sound for everyone, the place was well filled, it just was a great night.
Oh, and some girls should watch where they’re diving from stage. There should be at least some persons who can catch them (I hope it didn’t hurt too bad :))

by the way; are there any new t-shirts or sweaters or whatever for sale?

They got some new stuff for sale, e.g. a blue hooded sweater or a nice grey longsleeve with red sleeves.
Unfortunately, it’s the same “problem” with sizes as every T? tour, i.e. I wanted to buy the longsleeve but they only had in in L which is not quite my size.

Did Andy sing any of the lyrics to Shes Lost Control or was it just an instrumental?

Well, I try to get together all the songs they played yesterday, they’re not in correct order:
Hey Satan You Rock
Nobody Here But Us
If It Kills Me
My Voodoo Doll
Rust
I Am The Money
Sister
Church Of Noise
Straight Life
A Moment Of Clarity
Diane
Screamager
Stop It You’re Killing Me
Nowhere
Die Laughing
Isolation
Turn
Teethgrinder
Potato Junkie
Dancin’ With Manson

I’m not sure, but I think this is it.

Another brilliant gig! After hearing Dancin’ With Manson twice, I can’t help but thinking this song was meant to be played live! Why haven’t they played this one earlier, it’s such a great song, which sounds even better when played live!
See you guys in Tilburg tomorrow!

Did they drop Stand in Line or did you forget to mention it?

I was looking forward to hearing it again tomorrow.

Unless I missed it, they indeed dropped it from the setlist.

No Knives, no Stand In Line.

But regarding the postings on the other two shows before, they seem to be shuffling the set list more than ever before. So maybe tomorrow you’ll be lucky to hear it again.

Yep, that’s true… every evening a changed setlist… with at least 1 different song every night…

And the same problem as on every tour: the sweaters will be sold out when they reach Germany…

Well Rene, here it is (according to the officaial setlist, they skipped a few, as you can see):

Screamager
Turn
My Voodoo Doll
Straight Life
Sister
Rust
If It Kills Me
A Moment of Clarity
Die Laughing
I Am The Money
Church Of Noise
Potato Junkie
Stop It You’re Killing Me
(Who Knows)
Hey Satan You Rock
Nowhere (hoewver: not played at the end of the show, but a few songs earlier, they closed with Satan)

Diane (stripped down to cello)
(Shamburger)
(Stand In Line)
Nobody Here But Us
Isolation (with a snippet She’s Lost Control!)
Teethgrinder

Still having a huge smile on my face.. :)

Title: Utrecht Gig (merged thread)

I got married this year and typically Therapy? land in my hometown of Dublin whilst I’m on honeymoon!!!! So we went to Utrecht, (Holland) to see my old favourites, boy was it worth it. The venue was the Tivoli a cool joint with a capacity for circa 1000 bodies, intimate and you get right to the stage. It had been too long since I saw them last, but they have lost none of their sparkle or banter. Great energy, equals kick’in atmosphere. A very tight set, with sprinklings of old and new, something for everyone, they even dived into the ‘Short Sharp Shock’ archives which was great. What a show.
Hey Therapy? You Rock!
