snow patrol

i went to see a band called snow patrol last night in cambridge at the insistence of a friend. anyway, he seemed to think that they were great and i didn’t wish to disappoint him so i said “yeah, they were pretty good”. in actuality i thought they were complete shite. does anyone else know anything about this band, and if so, did i just catch a shit gig or are they actually any good?

they are never great…sometimes entertaining but never great…i saw them about 3 or 4 years ago for the first time and they were way better then than they are now…maybe i’m being a bit harsh cos i know a good few people who LOVE them…give them another try if u get the chance

so the general concensus is that they aren’t too good then. that’s good news. and also…

I think i would have probably done the same thing and said yeah they are alright.I might be doing Snow Patrol an injustice i haven’t heard any of their new stuff so it might be good.

I saw a bit of them a few weeks ago, but only because British Sea Power were supporting. I thought they were a bit shite, I even left early.

okay, so it seems pretty conclusive that they aren’t very good. that’s what i thought but my mate usually has very good taste, well maybe i should say very similar to my own taste, in music. anyway, i’ve since told him that they were shit so it doesn’t really matter now. he didn’t agree. thanks for the feedback though…

I had a wee listen to their album, its not bad. A few song’s I think they just recorded to make up numbers but overall a good nuff listen. Yet to see the video, but its good to see another N. Ireland band going places

this will possibly be controversial, but…

i went up to london last night to see snow patrol (didn’t stay to see T? today and tomorrow. that’s another story, but i am going on 25th may anyway).

tbh i was really looking forward to seeing them (saw them a couple of times before they had released final straw [and hence were quite underground]) again, but was quite underwhelmed to start with. it did end up being a class gig though and as red mist says i was really proud to see the reception a NI band got in london. frankly the only better reception i have seen at a gig was the scopophobia recording in the mandella hall.

still, only one song off 1st two albums was a bit crap and total time on stage (including break between main set and encore) was a paltry 1hr15.

overall very good though

New song ” All I Have ” is a million times better than wank like Athlete or james blunt.

Album is fairly uptempo too…Better than their old stuff.

The only good thing about them is they let Zombie Safari Park support them years ago. That’s it.
