The new single is out…

#

Started by allroy

…and it’s My Voodoo Doll. I just bought it tonight at the T? show in Lingen for a very reasonable 5€. B-sides are If It Kills Me, Screamager and Teethgrinder from the Mandela Hall Show. The booklet says 17/11/2003 for official release date.
Does this mean, the Voodoo Doll promos aren’t worth anything now, so that somebody could send me one? :D

2 B-sides at this site in the Audio section. Strange.
Could someone post the cover?

There is only one of the b-sides in the audio section (If It Kills Me), not two. Think of it as a way of promoting the single and the DVD.

As for the My Voodoo Doll promo; since it only contains the album version of My Voodoo Doll anyway, it remains an interesting item for T? collectors, which won’t change with the new single. If someone does send you their promo for free, allroy, that’s a nice bonus. However, it won’t be me ;-)

Unless you win the next caption competition, which will start tomorrow!

regarding new t-shirts, there’s a really cool shirt with a picture of Andy on the front, and the tour schedule on the back. it also says ‘scopophobia 2003’. there’s also a shirt with a picture of the front of high anxiety, and a long-sleeved brown/grey version of the hey satan-you rock-t-shirt (not sure if these are new, but hey)
there’s also a new grey/green hooded sweater, and a couple of badges and stickers.

So MVD will get a full release?

When I said that I didn’t know when it would be going on sale, I meant at which gig. As far as I know it won’t be going on sale in the shops, but you can only buy it at the gigs during the current tour.

A lot of artists, Therapy? included (Bad Mother, Stories re-release, etc, etc.) release stuff every once in a while which is limited to a country or to selling at gigs, etc. This is a very common thing, and a nice thing to do in my opinion, as it gives something extra to the people attending gigs in this case, or to countries where a band is very popular in other cases.

In general, I don’t think it makes much sense to discuss limited edition releases in terms of being fair or not. The whole idea of limited edition stuff is that only a limited number of people can get something, and enjoy it that little bit extra because of that. Sometimes you’re able to get something, sometimes you don’t, that’s life. I don’t think you can compare this with the poor distribution of T?’s regular albums in the US, for example.

However, I do agree it’s a sad thing is that it was delayed and perhaps a bit unfair to those who’ve already been to a gig, as the original plan was to have it ready at the start of the tour. Maybe there’s a possibility of selling a couple of the singles through the site as well, to create a new opportunity to get it?

Me, too. I’m in Florence next Saturday, so if they should still have some copies in stock, I could get them. But Rene should verify that the single won’t be officially released.
As I posted, below the tracklist it says: “Released 17/11/03”. so if it might be available in the shops people could save the money for p&p.

Or I shouldn’t make promises to get the single for anyone but just buy all available copies at the gig and sell them via ebay for loads of money. :D

I don’t know if they will be selling a limited amount at each gig, thus making supplies last until the end of the tour, and I have been wondering about this myself as well. I do know that any remaining singles after the tour will be sold through the site, as mentioned in the new news item I’ve put up earlier today.

It won’t, check out the news item mentioned above for confirmation.

The official news is just what I wanted. So there’s a fair chance for the people in Holland or scandinavia to get copies of the single.
