This gig had better be going ahead as its the closest they are playing to me and I havent seem them since March 2000.

Any info would be good. Thanks.

I went to TJ’s on Saturday to see The Wildhearts. Watch out for the low ceiling there - in parts it just touched the top of my head with me standing up straight.

The website for TJ’s says TBC so it might be worth checking that ever so often. I’m in Newcastle that night for a Maiden gig so can’t make it unfortunately.

I haven’t heard anything to indicate it might not take place. TJ’s have either not yet updated their site, or they mean that only the price of the tickets is to be determined.

You’ld choose that bunch of talentless charlatans over a decent rock band ????

Squall, the show in TJ’s has been confirmed quite a bit after the other UK shows taking place before it, so I guess this has something to do with the tickets not being on sale yet.

I don’t know what the normal practice is in the UK, but in Holland it’s normal for quite a large part of the shows in smaller venues to go on sale as late as three weeks before it takes place.

I obviously hope they will be going on sale soon!

Title: Confused about the TJs gig (merged thread)

Hi Guys & Gals.

Long time reader of the forum here wondering if tickets are available for the gig at TJs on the 5th December. Is the gig going ahead, if so are tickets available. I’ve tried Spillers and all the usual outlets with no luck. Spillers knew about the gig but hadn’t been approached to be ticket agent. I got blank responses from all other outlets, except for TJs who never seem to answer the phone.

Any help would be much appreciated.

well what can I say? apart from f**king fantastic! Met Two old mates of mine. Dislocated my ankle moshing. Got into a fight at the bar. Ended the night talking to some rambling drunk stranger for an hour, and missed my train home. Oh yeah! The band were pretty darn good too, and if you guys read these things, please, please, please… keep the promise of playing there again next year, Big John loved it!

Damn straight, what a night! I missed the first band, but the rest of the support was pretty great, and Therapy? were awesome. They didn’t play Hey Satan, You Rock though. Cheers guys, come back soon

I was waiting outside TJs and I saw Andy, Neil and Michael on the other side of the road. I crossed over and talked to Andy. He was really cool, I told him I loved Infernal Love and he said he liked my Iggy Pop t-shirt. He laughed when he asked me how things were going and I said things were great because I was “Walking down the road, talking to Andy Fucking Cairns!”
During the gig I was going pretty mental in the front few rows and Michael stopped playing for a moment just to shake my hand!
Brilliant gig (the support bands rocked too) and I hope they come back soon.

Just wanted to say that the Newport gig was fantastic, if a little insane… the small space between crowd and stage meant that every time some crowdsurfed, something needed fixing. The drum kit had to be reset after the first song.

And Andy is still quite the comic genius. After about five attempts at ‘A Moment Of Clarity’, he looked to the sky, said “Dear God, give the fat man a break”… and they finally nailed it. After another song he said “my kids say Daddy, what did you do last night, and I say… I drank some liquor, played some punk rock and got my head kicked in by the crowd… they must be so proud”.

Anyway, enough of my wittering, it was genius and I nabbed a setlist if anyone interested to know what they played…

I was at both that gig and the Therapy? one. In between the two, they’ve dealt with that dangerous ceiling and you can now jump to your heart’s content!
