Flash websites - ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG!!

#

Started by White Psycho

I had a piece of coursework to do which consisted of making a flash website about either myself, a film or a band. Naturally I chose to do it on T? Today I handed a websitre that refused to work when there is nothing apparently wrong with of the code, I was up ‘til 2 last night trying to work it out, just gave up in the end!

Sorry just needed to rant

Actually “ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG!!” pretty much sums up my opinion of all-flash websites ;-).

page loads up then when you click a link it loads the next page, then automatically loads the next one when it shouldn’t. I have actionscript in to stop that happening!

It has its place, but there is no need for entire sites to be flash based.

yep, the code was fine I checked it and rechecked it, went to sleep, woke up and check again but it would still not work!

for some reason, making stuff stop and start (and repeat) when you want it to always seems to cause a load of hassle. to me anyway… what sometimes works is putting things into movieclips, making the whole thing decidedly more complex and layered than it reasonably should be. then you might be able to make it do what you want.

it doesn’t matter anymore, I handed it in and I can’t be arsed with it. It just pissed me off so much, thanks anyway!
