Gutted

I’m feeling sorry for my self today, so I’ll tell you why.

I realised this week that I’ve missed out on a 3 month stint in America with my work :(

The company I work for are sending people there to train, as they’re moving into a new area of production. Apparently, I was certain to get one of the jobs if I had applied on time, but…

Closing date for applications was last Friday, I thought it was this Friday.

So, not only have I missed out on 3 months in the States, but also the double wages (for 3 months) that I would’ve got, plus the fact that the job itself would give me good experience and therefore a great chance of getting a job as an Engineer (which is what I studied in college).

Basically, I fucked up. I am sad :(

Shit man, I don’t know what to say. That sounds like the kind of thing that I’d do. Get one of those T? albums on when you get home, that always make me feel better when I feel like shit.

that does indeed suck… couldn’t you try and hand your application in anyway? if you were certain to get a place if you’d applied in time, maybe they’ll still give you a chance? if necessary, maybe invent an excuse for why you couldn’t apply in time…?

Cheers guys! :)

Well, the company I work for has unbelievably strict guidelines on pretty much everything, including job application deadlines. I have left my application with them, but I’ve no chance really.

The reason I said I was almost certain for the job is what my boss said about my college education being a “distinct” advantage, ie “you were a shoe-in if you got your finger out and applied on time, you dumb fuck!”

So, it’s not like they had my name on it, besides, everyone here is a just number anyway! :D

Also found out after my original post, that a €2000 bonus that was expected across the board at work, we will now NOT be getting it… when it rains, it pours, kinda thing.

Ah well, no point crying over split milk, I suppose. Time to get rat-arsed at the company party this Friday, methinks!

:)

Thanks, will do! :D

Actually, last year I blatantly ignored my boss (after a rip-roaring argument the week before), started doing hand-stands on the dance-floor, fell asleep at the bar, and puked my ring up while legging it to the bog. Happy days!

Let’s hope the party this Friday is as good!
