You like the albums I don’t like that much and vice versa.
You are correct there. Here’s what I think about each of their albums (even though I only own suicide pact and anxiety, I have heard many on mp3 and from sample clips on this site):
Babyteeth: Their best album for sure. Skyward is their best ballad. And by far, Babyteeth is their crazyest album. Animal Bones is heavyness and speed to the core, Loser Cop experiments with fusion and the guitar in the sample clip kick every ass kickable. And there is other great songs such as Innocent X. This is an AMAZING album and it is ackward to think this is by the same people who made Semi-Detached.
Pleasure Death: Starts with the coolest drum sound I have ever heard in Skinning Pit and leaves us with much atmosphere. The other songs are much the same with cool riffs and Potato Junkie is one those neverending classic Therapy? songs. A damn fine purchase.
Nurse: A little different than their other releases, but that doesn’t stop the melody from floating. When I hear this album I get some strange kind of atmosphere, like I am trapped inside some kind of mental hospital, mostly done to the weird melodies and the clanging drums. Many good ones on here, and Accelerator kicks ass.
Troublegum: What happened to Therapy? is something that I don’t know. They dropped most of the heavy trash metal stuff on this album and went for teenage-punk like musical overtures instead. But it starts with a killer song Knives which brings me to another point, all therapy? albums starts with a kickass song. LOL, every single one of them, that’s something you notice very quickly. Because no matter how bad a therapy? album is, the first song is always gonna rock. The other songs on Troublegum ain’t my style really, Screamager is ok and a lot of these are ok, they ain’t bad, but they certainly ain’t good either.
Infernal Love: The musicality on this album amazes me to the bone. Nearly all the songs are good, however they are much more mellow than their past ones. But of course, hard rock therapy? is still here on songs like 30 Seconds and Epilepsy. And Infernal Love also has the worst T? song ever recorded, the stupid, ugly and sickening Loose. I give them much credit for that song, people who can write a song with a melody THAT ugly deserves some attention.
Semi-Detached: By far their worst album. Every song except for the two first are really bad. Much of this is modern pop for fucks sake. What the fuck is this fucking worhtless piece of crap shit good for? This will definently be the last therapy album I will purchase, if I ever get persuaded to buy it that is.
Suicide Pact - You First: This was the first Therapy? album I ever bought. I was walking in a music store and looking at a collectin of low-price CDs and I found one by therapy?. I thought wow, I must get it because therapy? rocks! So I bought it. I was dissapointed, VERY dissapointed. Most of the melodys are really crap, but it did have some good songs on it. The first track is the best T? song ever recorded and it is loud too and heavy. Big Cave In is a nice instrumental, but a little too long? Trakcs 6 and 9 are both good attempts at ballads. Little Tongues First is cool enough, at least it has a steady riff! The two last tracks are both mediocre and does not bring me much attention. Wall of Mouths, Jam Jar Jail and Ten Year Plan is some sickening crap that makes you wanna puke your fucking guts out, much like their last album.
Shameless - Wow, smeet mother of hell, this album is ROCK AND ROLL with great riffs and tons of pleasent melodies. Gimme Back My Brain and Joey are some of the most kickass songs I have ever heard! There’s not really one bad song on this album, not even Body Bag Girl is bad, it’s quirky and nasty, ehehehe.
High Anxiety - A big trip back at their Troublegum days. Most of this awful pop shit. The first song Hey Satan — You Rock is groovy and has their best melody ever written. Track 2 is also not that bad. But the other songs? Woeeeee. I needed to listen to them many times before I liked them. When I bought the album I was very dissappointed and songs like My Voodoo Doll were way to cute for me. But then again, the more you listen to that album the more you find about it. Like I recently I decied to listen to If It Kills Me all the way through and I found out that main riff turns cool later in it and that the guitar solo ROCKS. Anyways, 2 years is way too long for one to stop releasing an album so I hope T? manage to dig up some fresh shameless rock ‘n roll for their next album ;).
