Funereal Gig
Yippee! Funeral For A Friend have just announced a Belfast show. The Welsh band will play the Mandela Hall on May 1st with Therapy? taking up the challenge of support slot. Bruce Dickinson will allegedly be joining both bands onstage. Its an early gig, starting at 6pm and is part of the Music Live extravaganza. Tickets on sale from QUB and Ticketmaster. http://www.bbc.co.uk/musiclive

forgive me if i’m wrong, but are ffaf not a new nu-metal band with 1 album (know very little about them so this could be wrong) so why are t? supporting them? especially as it’s at some festival thing that is supposed to be about n.i being musical country of the world for a fortnight. surely it should be the other way round? or is this just some teenybopper orientated decision?

i’ve seen t? loads of times always as headliners (except at festivals) and never considered i would see them support anybody. i’m a bit confused by it all - first wildhearts and now this… still, would be funny to see the headliners toatlly blown away by their support!

across the line said they were supported by ffaf who are quite awful really but it would be ridiclous if t? were supporting a back of welsh mummys boys

I think we should devise a sinister scooby doo type plan where we could dress up as ghosts and frighten funeral for a friend back to wales so that Therapy? can play their whole catalogue in an all night rock extravanganza, i’ll make some scary costumes out of old curtains if it helps?
Anybody want a hand in the ploy?

I must say i am not impressed by Therapy? supporting anyone.

Challenge???? More like a stroll in the park for the T? boys. I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come, T? becoming a support act, not after releasing the fantastic High Anxiety and Scopophobia. I guess it might introduce them to some new, younger rock fans and as they’re in-between promotional duties it’s easy money without having the responsiblities of expenses and shifting the tickets themselves.

FFAF are mates with Zane Lowe of MTV2, so maybe he’ll see the gig and think, ‘right, that’s the shit we need for the couch, some REAL rock!’.

I can see the point of playing with The Wildhearts, they’re mates and they’ll be great gigs, BUT WHY NOT IN DUBLIN!!! I’M BACK AFTER 4 YEARS AND NOW THEY’RE AVOIDING PLAYING HERE. But like the Murphy’s, I’m not bitter.

that’s more like it. hopefully next week, it will say that ffaf are supporting therapy? though…
