God Kicks: is it original?

#

Started by Disgracelands (Guest)

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this at all but I really think that God Kicks is just a Diane rip-off. If you’ve got the 1st cd of the Lonley, Cryin’, Only. 2 cd set then you should know what I mean.

Hey Dude!!

God kicks is cooler because it’s only 2.5 minutes instead of 100 years like diane which was a load of boring toss and T?’s worst song.

Lighten up dude. I can’t see how this relates to this topic, but to address your comments, why can’t someone like Therapy? and Pantera at the same time? Why is it a shame? I don’t like T? any less because I like other bands at the same time. Not necessarily Pantera, but plenty of other bands, including Metallica, Megadeth, Live, van Halen and a lot of others. Get a fresh perspective on things and have some fun. Cheers, Teethgrinder.

I didn’t say that God Kicks wasn’t a good song I just pointed out that it sounds similar to Diane.

I’d like to say that God Kicks is probably one of the most original and best songs therapy? have produced to date. It resembles Diane in the same way that you resemble an intelligent human being. Not at all !!!!

I reckon Diane and God Kicks are works of pure musical genius. Sure they’re slower than the usual T? songs, but that doesn’t make them any less intense. I think speed is the only thing they have in common.
And please don’t berate me for asking this but, WHO THE FUCK WAS GERMAN IN JOHNYBOYS LIST?, Strange but I kinda like everyone in his list. Is this possible? Do I need help?

johnnyboy (Guest) wrote:

Disgracelands you only have 12 notes in music and the same three are used in
the chord progression of both songs , bowels of love and many other songs by T?
and others.
F EWING I’m not a German , I’m from Croatia but I like a couple of German bands
are really good
Rumbleguts you don’t need help but what list do you mean?
on my Depeche Mode is No. 1 and Faith No More/Mr. Bungle on 7
the rest of the list is empty until Position 11 and under.

also-pantera,Mr bungle and faith no more are all great bands who i like as much as Therapy and i think its sad that people are so insecure and ignorant to abuse each other about that

You are right , Devildick , but only that it doesn’t matter who
listens to what as long as it’s good.
Your first point that Semi-Detached is the worst album couldn’t be
more wrong. Do you know why?
Because it’s the best album Therapy? ever made.
Did you notice that you are doing the same thing you said you detest
-arguing what is good and what is bad music.
For me there is no pleasure like having someone loving a band that I
played them years ago and they said it is shit and now they would die
for it so I lick my lips and say : Do you know two years ago when I
played you their albums and you said it’s horrible

Title: what I feel

I feel like there’s a need for both Diane and God Kicks. I’ve noticed the similarity sure, but their both nice. Diane is one of the world’s most beautiful songs, God Kicks is more of a sad song to give you a relaxing feeling. And what’s weird, in God Kicks, I always thought he said:

God kicks me balls in

instead of

God kicks with both feet

(as the official lyrics say)

Anyone else noticed this?

Its always sad when people threaten each other on the internet. You don’t know them, little chance of you meeting them. Its not like you can go to their house and beat them up! Only Jay & Silent Bob can do that!

With regards to the song, God Kicks is great, the cello parts sound a bit similar but I don’t care its a good song!

Also why is it “Attack of the Guests” all of a sudden?

You guys are strange! =) I think Diane is a brilliant song! It’s eerie! The newer version on the Lonely, Cryin’ Only single is not that great. Sort of boring, it lost what made the version on Infernal Love so good. The mood wasn’t the same.
