It’s a lame cover indeed! But how about the best cover? I’ve been thinking about this a while ago, I think my fav is the cover of LoveHateTragedy by Papa Roach. I attached the pic, but I edited it a bit, that is, I removed all text so that the ‘rocking baby’ is the only thing left!

thank you deadsetgav for bringing this sleeve into my world, its absolutely superb! i’m so tempted to buy the album if only to hear the track ‘guts for sale’. These people should be in the charts. Genius isn’t the word.

Okay, worst album cover (at least in recent memory) is probably Iron Maiden’s Dance of Death.
Umm, can’t think of any particularly good ones right now.
Best T? cover is Troublegum. Worst T? cover I’d have to say Semi-Detached. In my opinion.
Maybe.

I quite like the artwork on Shamless and HA.
Rabbits/hares- fuckin weird! Thats the beauty of it for me- nothing that you may expect. And imagine if started to happen at T? gigs, without acid! In fact- I may get a costume just for this tour and wear it to the gigs. And die in the heat!!:D
HA’s artwork has that punky “cut things up and whack em together” aspect but doesn’t do as everyone else to flag up the “We’re punk!” point. The forthcoming Amen album (well the ads for it at least) reeks of that to me- ransom note-esqe title graphics etc.
Oh well, each to the their own :)
SP-YF used to really annoy/disturb me for many reasons though- took me ages to look at it without feeling repulsed. Maybe thats what T? wanted to do though? :)
Don’t know about worst album cover that I own. The cover of Kicking Against the Pricks by Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds is a bit weak- just Cave looking a bit confused and a bit drunk (if theres a difference!) :D Wouldn’t say its the worst though. Theres gotta be some utter shite my minds blocking out right now!

This one rocks indeed, I really like the one from Megadeth too… little people rock :D

i urge EVERYBODY to check out dr bigjoints link, its fucking GENIUS!! especially ‘happiness with ron johnson’ and ‘the many facets of roger’. And i doubt there will ever, EVER, be a band name as good as ‘The Braillettes’.
Back to T? artwork though, yeah shameless is bad, but what abot babbyteeth and pleasure death?? and troublegum is awful! AND, even though its my personal fave and one of the most ROCKINGEST albums ever, suicide pact. So bad. Good job they make up for with the musci, eh?
And by ‘musci’, i, of course, mean ‘music’. I’ve drank four THOUSAND cups of coffee today and i’m a little shaky and fucking HYPER right now.

Yeah, I sympathise. I’m fine for the first three thousand four hundred and one, four hundred and two or so, but after that…
I just can’t hold my coffee I guess.

All the ‘alle 13 goed’ album covers are terrible, but after a lot of drinks and a conversation with a few artists with a convincing attitude, you feel the urge to say they’re great covers, only to get rid of them.
Shameless is my least favourite of the T? covers, and I still think CRASS made the best covers and art work. Check the site: http://www.southern.com/southern/band/CRASS/
cheers!

I agree with bad karma abot the muse sleeves, fucking terrible. Great sleeves are so few and far between these days. One of my personal faves (although i’ve never heard the album or intend to) is frank zappa’s ‘weasels ripped my flesh’. In fact most of zappas sleeves are ace, and you’ve gotta respect anyone with album titles like ‘thing-fish’ & ‘sheik yerbooti’.

I always found the Talking Heads covers of ‘More songs about buildings and food’ and ‘Remain in light’ superb artwork. Fortunately there are more good than bad covers. Prince’s Purple Rain is one of the worse though.

actually i’ve just this last week read a prince biography and my GOD his early sleeves are bad! In all fairness though, although i may get lynched for saying this on the WOM, he’s got some CRACKIN songs. The general public may find him weird, but you can’t fault a classic songwriter like that.
Sorry!

Not only is the CD one of the best I’ve heard the last few years (I’ve certainly heard it the most), the cover is very beautiful and psychedelic what describes their music as well. The cover makes you think it’s a heavy metal band though but actually it’s just plain psychedelic Indie Rock.
