Bands that sing in your native tounge..

#

Started by JSar666

I just realised that a lot of the people on this board don’t have English as their 1st language, myself included. Anyway, I want to ask whether you really listen to any bands that sing in your native tounge?

Personally, I think any bands that sing in Norwegian are lame, and don’t listen to any of them.

There are a few decent Norwegian bands, but the ones that sing in Norwegian either suck outright or just make me cringe when they sing in Norwegian, just because the Norwegian language is rather limited.

Have you ever heard of Kaizer’s Orchestra, I think they’re brilliant.

Fortunately, there are many excellent German bands that also sing in German (too many to mention them).

As someone already mentioned: De Mens, Gorki and Monza.
I have to add CPeX and Noordkaap to that list. In Belgium we also have a lot of excellent bands that sing in English like Soulwax, Novastar, Lemon, Arid, Moonlake, Yum, Mint, Venus In Flames, Triggerfinger, Admiral Freebee, Automatic Buffalo, Camden, Zornik, Kamino, Sioen, Hale Bopp, (almost forgot) dEUS, Ozark Henry,…

I like a Belgian band called K’s Choice. They have some good songs, but some are a bit too silly for me. Although they sing in English.

I’ve also heard some Die Fantasichen Vier (is that how you spell it). They were kinda cool, it was interesting to hear rap done in another language than English.

It’s Die Fantastischen Vier, they were the first popular german hip hop band. Meanwhile, there’s a really lively scene with bands like beginner, Fettes Brot and many, many more. With Fischmob we even had a fantastic hip-hop-goes-indie band, sort of the german Outkast.
Especially with hip hop you should use your native tongue, anything else is rubbish.

Belgian Asociallity the first 2 records where amazing, later on I’ve lost interest in the band, though their first cd I still like. Most of the songs are in dutch, actually a flemisch dialect, hmm, I should start to look after their newer records again… :D

And of course Gorki is very nice, they played at Lokerse Feesten same day as Therapy? did… That was the day of my life!!! or at least one of the days ;-)

Boy, how drunk was Luk De Vos that day. He was as drunk as all the members of T? combined and it was still early mind you. BTW, I didn’t think it was fair that Zornik played after Gorki.

Why? Are you so ashamed of bands like De Heideroosjes and De Raggende Manne?
